Re: No images, menus not vertical in themes in 2.0.18

It really does install beautifully, so I would make sure I had everything deleted, (in case of bug) and do a complete new install. (mainfile changing permissions looks suspicious to me)

Good luck, all will look better in the am...

Re: No images, menus not vertical in themes in 2.0.18

At first I just got a red x box for the logo then went to pull it up directhttp://tinyfilms.org/themes/zetagenesis/img/header-logo.png

It came in ok so when I went back to view the page the logo was there.

The same thing happened with the other images, once put into the cache they view fine.

I would blame the browser at this point.

This was using a IE6, and zetagenesis

THEN

I went to FireFox....

Everything was horrible.

Which brings me to, if you could view my site without a problem, it works well for me in both FireFox and IE6 then it must be your install and some corrupt files.

I would recommend you redo the install.

and just try it FIRST with the default themes installed with the core. Adding the other themes one at a time to see if they are giving you the problem.

Then the modules, one at a time until I found the culprit.

Re: No images, menus not vertical in themes in 2.0.18

This is a fresh install with 2.0.18 RC

http://xoops-end-user.com/xoops01/
with html shots of the various pages listed.

The only problem was with the smileys.
The fix for that is listed on the left test block link.

Are you SURE the cache folder permissions are set for write access ... come to think of it, that was an initial install problem for me. After double checking the folders they still had to be set from within the cpanel. (could be the way my server now handles permissions) ftp changing them did not work.

Re: xcgal display error

Need a link to the faulty page so we can see the source code in order to evaluate.

Re: Comments on new website and module usage

I think a bigger chat window would be desireable. At least as big as the ones we use here for text input.

Other than that, the design looks nice to me.

Good job.

Re: smilies suddenly not working in 2.0.18

Re: Difference between http://mydomain and www.mydomain?

I believe I would go along with this discussion.
In some cases it does make a difference.

example.
http://aristotle.net <<redirects to web.aristotle.net
http://www.aristotle.net << same as www.aristotle.net

Re: Add a new block

http://www.xoops.net.br/blocksadmin.htm

At the top of the page you have
Show blocks visible in | Top Page | Group | visible all

make sure that is correct for what you want to do.

Re: Footer Link

See example without the footer link.

http://xoops-end-user.com/xoops01/themes/default/theme.html
AND
http://hardhunting.com/themes/bluehue/theme.html
With footer link

At the very bottom where it says <{$xoops_footer}>
you may see a link to the site you wish to remove or exchange for a link to your own site.

_______________
You put the full address of your site /themes/ folder you are using /theme.html (you can do this with your browser, like above example)

You can then open the file with notepad (view source from the file menu) and very carefully remove the link and save the file to your desktop. Then ftp it back to the themes directory where it came from.

If you have any questions about what I just said be sure and make a backup before you start. (of the file)
