I wanted to get rid of the /modules in every XOOPS URLs. I've searched around and found an interesting article in Japanese about how to do the task.

I will post the 'how to' after translating it into English and doing some tests.

Here are the first results:

/modules/newbb changed to /forum
/modules/news changed to /news
/modules/wordpress changed to /blog
/modules/d3downloads changed to /stuffs
/modules/pico changed to /info
/modules/smartsection changed to /content
/modules/smartfaq changed to /faq
/modules/happy_search changed to /search
/modules/xcgal changed to /photos
/modules/mylinks changed to /links
/modules/liaise changed to /contact
/modules/article changed to /jokes
/xoops.js changed to /main.js
/include/xoops.js changed to /include/main.js

Take a look at these to see some of the changes done:

-http://x2j.nhatban.net/ (for XOOPS 2 JP)
-http://xcl.nhatban.net/ (for XOOPS Cube Legacy)
-http://x20.nhatban.net/ (for Xoops.org 2.0.x)
-http://x22.nhatban.net/ (for Xoops.org 2.2.x)

You need 'Frameworks' to have Xpress worked. Search 'Frameworks' at this site.

Hodajuku (XOOPS Cube Legacy distribution with high-quality modules ready to used on a production environment) looks so good. It will be perfect if it were faster. It is said that by including 'mainfile.php' XOOPS Cube loads 159 classes, 51 functions, and 278 constants into memory. This takes about 4MB of RAM

Why don't you try pico as well?

The manual of pico is here:http://xoops.peak.ne.jp/md/repository/manuals/pico_manual_e.html

That's xoops.

From XOOPS 2.3 you will be able to stay logged in with the "Remember Me" feature.

See 2.3 in action here:http://www.nhatban.net/demo/xoops23/

Test account is: username=xoops, password=xoops

With 2.0.18.1, you may try auto-login hacked files for XOOPS 2.0.17

Thanks for pointing me that out > claydoh

I've never used XoopsGallery. I prefer xcGal anyway.

Try:http://library.fishbreeder.net/xoopsdocs/protector-3-02.pdf (by Madfish)

Quote:

If you somehow manage to ban yourself from your own site (most people seem to achieve this at
least once :) go to XOOPS_TRUST_PATH/modules/protector/configs and delete the files in there.
One of them contains the 'banned IP' data so getting rid of it (or better, editing it to remove your
own IP) will restore your access to the site. Note that deleting it will also restore access of all other
banned users, so editing it is a better idea if you aren't in a hurry.
In previous versions of Protector there was a facility to set a “rescue password”, but this has been
removed in V3.

I had wf-section 2.0.7. I did the following steps to migrate it to Pico

1) Updated Wf-sections to 2.92
2) Export from Wf-sections 2.92 to SmartSection 2.13 (hack needed)
3) Import from SmartSection 2.13 to Pico 1.6
4) Uninstall and remove Wf-section (2.0.7, 2.92), SmartSection 2.13

For me Pico is the fastest and greatest content management module!

If anyone intersted in, I will post the 'how to' in more detail.
