THANKS nachenko! I almost got it fixed, YEAH!!!!!
I uploaded, installed, followed all directions and changed permisssions, etc...

The editor originaly showed up but now I am having issues. I now get no tool bar for the editor so I went to the tool set in the admin and dragged/clicked each icon which allowed me to see a toolbar with all the functions BUT, everything was repeated twice on the menu and the menu bar is twice as long/wide as the screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks sato-san for replying. I tried this but it left me with a blank page on the main page. I guess im off to try the tiny editor module and see if that does the trick

2.2.x Editors for News 1.53

Can someone tell me what editors work for 2.2.4 and News 1.53? I downloaded the new version of xoopseditors (1.10) and updated my framework but I cant get any editors to work.

I looked at the functions.php in news 1.53 and seen that it only called for /class/xxx.php rather than /class/xoopseditor/xxx.php so I changed it but it didnt help.

I am using 2.2.4 and cannot seem to get any editors (within /class/xoopseditors/) with any capabilities worth using to fully function or even show up with any functions.

In the news preferences, all of the editors for choice are not showing up from what I uploaded, like Tinymce etc..
For the FCKeditor, it shows up as FCK editor with a space.

I searched the forums and have found only bits and pieces of previous fixes but nothing exact for an issue with 2.2.4 or news module.

Most searches revealed everyone complaining about issues with FCK not working on 2.0.x which does not relate. I know I cant be the only person who dislikes the 2.0 branch and chooses to be a defiant rebel and use 2.2.x, lol.....so I know somoeone has faced issues with this that can direct me to the light, haha.

I tried to bablefish it to english to understand it but it wasnt much help.

Im looking for something already compiled together and ready for use rather than a hack. Im a bit of a novice when it comes to trying to implement a hack.

Thanks DobePhat for replying. I downloaded and tweaked the exnews theme a long while back since it was the closest to what I was wanting but yet it still is not exactly like the example site and what I'm seeking. Although it is close, it doesnt scream Newspaper at first glance. Maybe I need to relook at exnews and try a different font in it.

I keep hoping someone will create and release one but it hasnt happened in the two years i have been stoppin in, haha.

My search continues...............

Gallery with thumbnail & lightbox for 2.2.x

What gallery mod with thumbnail and lightbox function is working with 2.2.x? Would also like a good block feature with it too. I am currently using myalbum-p by GIJoe on most of my sites but I like the lightbox versions im seeing in the new mods.

I looked at extgal but it says it dont work with 2.2.x and I dont know if Zoullou has updated to work for us renegades using 2.2.x ;)
I seen the release of xsgal but it didnt say if it worked with 2.2.x

Any suggestions on what to use?

I dont know if this is what exactly you want but its what I did since I couldnt really find what I needed either. I tried the ones in the repository like pjirc and so on but didnt care much for them.

I ended up going here and registering a site and using the module TinyD to make it work on my site (sorry you must register to access).


I use it for a trivia bot and it works perfect for its purpose and I dont have to host. Anyway, just thought Id pass it along. Not perfect and not exactly what we want for IRC usage but it serves its purpose for me and for someone new or unfamiliar with IRC. If someone really uses IRC and idles on various networks, chances are they are not going to use any module on my site to connect anyway, rather they would use thier own script to connect as most do.
