the xdonations module for XOOPS (as seen on the right side of the page here) is stable....
PayPal has been having problems with their API, and the recent requirements for the accounts that they allow to use it.

You need to have a 'Verified' account account with them, and then you will need to call to get a specific authorization code to use in the module.

I have the module installed on three or four sites and it wokrs without fail...however, when any of my clients change their accounts at PayPal I end up having to call them and have everything reset again. They have as much as admitted the problem is theirs, yet they still have not published a fix or standard resolution to the issue

Have you tried the module?? If so, what issues are you having?

let me guess...it doesn't report the donors?

through microsofts profound wizardry, it has probably assigned that ICO file as the icon for shortcuts in your system....

Who knows why....they had some BS in their tech forums about having fixed the IE ICO functionality...but it appears to have only gotten worse in my opinion.

For me... I just choose not to believe anything that MS has to say about the functionality of their products, or anything that anyone else has written about it, as my years of experience with it have proven everything I've ever read to not be consistent or validated.

I've chalked it up to "Oh well...that's life!"

Looks like y'all are understanding the process quite well

I just want to mention that for mario' situation, to be able to go 'backwards' requires that both the databse and the site files were backed up in order for it to work.

In some instances of updates to xoops, especially the difference between the 2.0.13.1 version and the new 2.2 version, the databse structure has changed....so simply backing up the database from the 2.2 and then re-inserting it into a 2.0.13 install will cause some problems and things will not work.

Be sure to check the logs and accompanying info for any database changes made between versions as this will prevent you from dumping all data and re-inserting into previous versions.

The moral of the story however, is to be sure to back up everything before upgrading or altering your sites core files, as without the back up, you are lost.

For me, I only use the 2.2 versions as test and trial sites, as it has not developed far enough yet to include all of the modules and functionalities that I have in my 2.0.13.1 sites.

On a posative note...threads like this and the experiences of the users with the new version are essential to being able to advance it and have it grow to be even better than what it is today!

Happy Xoopsing Everyone!

In the admin area under the block settings, you can control which blocks appear on which pages.

(and yes, the page will fill the vacant area)

Google is not clear in any of their documentation about how deep into a url string it will search. Different people have had different results and have different opinions on how deep the bot will go, or how many characters of a URI string it will accept.

As long as you let the robot have access to the folder with the downloads, and the site is not 'protected' from anonymous users...google will search it.

sometimes a 'work around' is to make a text file with all of the downloads names and descriptions etc in it with a link to the main site, and drop that into the folder where the downloads are...sort of a non-html index of all the downloads. Then google will associate the download names and file names with your site...which is what you want.

Post a link for the rest of us if/when you get the sitemap link thingy working

put back your logo, and clear your cache and delete the site from your favoites.

As I mentioned earlier...IE doesn't play well with these things at all.

Use firefox to test it, and you will see immediately if it is working or it isn't.

(on a side note I have noticed that IE doesn't care for 24bit ICO files...and prefers 8bit)

If it makes you feel any better, I don't even get the ICO for XOOPS at the XOOPS site when using IE...or any of the ICO's that I have made for my sites....I get them once...maybe, and then they just go away, neber to be seen again. (I really think that this is an IE issue and not an ICO issue)

i think you don`t understand me.

$block = sitemap_get_categoires_map($xoopsDB->prefix("mydownloads_cat"), "cid","pid", "title", "viewcat.php?cid=", "title");

this is a plugin for sitemap module. This shows all the categories in mydownloads module.

Or if i go to the topten php i see 10 links. Now i just want to know how i can show up all the links. Or is that not working at all. So i have to submit 5996 links manualy on a custom html/php file?

No, thats not going to be possible. The table for the downloads has divided everything into categories...so if you altered the code to display all of the downloads instead of just 50...you'd still only get all of the downloads for that specific category.

Unfortunately, the only way I see this happening is to remove all categories and sub categories and altering the display code for the downloads module to show all of them, by using a number that is so far beyond the number of downloads you have, you'll never reach it. (instead of 50, 50,000,000)

But with as many downloads as you have, that is going to make your downloads section a quagmire of links that users will be lost in for days!
