What is the cause of the error "This document contains no data"?

On my works internal website whenever someone tries to pull up a document in smartsections or sometimes when they login in they get this error.

Any help appreciated.

My suggestion is to remove wfsections and go with smartsections. Its a much more bug free and robust article module.

It was a pain to convert everything over but in the end smartsection is updated and supported much better then wfsections.

Hope that helps.

Odd occurance.. on my primary site I installed Smartsection recently and it detected/uses the koivi editor without a hitch.

I installed a new site the other day thats a blog. I installed koivi and installed smart sections, but SS does not use koivi. Any ideas what I may be missing?

Latest vers of all software

Forgive my ignorance but what is the 'auto login' you are talking about. I use my browsers ability to store login/pw to my (and others) site. Thus all I need to go when I go to my site it hit the submit button in the login block.

Perhaps I am missing something...

What version of wf-sections are you using?

If you are using the last 2.0x version then I would suggest you drop it. It has several bugs and a big security hole. If you are using the latest beta then I have no expereince with that ver.

I would strongly recommend you move over to SmartSections. Its MUCH better IMO (native koivi support for example) and updated on a regular basis much more the WF.

I dumped wf-sections in favor of Smartsections and very happy I did so. Kudos to those who have put the time into it.

Cuckston says that downloads will be free of charge. But upgrades will be done according to how much money he gets through donations. That's different to how AMS was released.

Andy

Fair enough. This is, obviouslly, a pet peeve of mine as I am sure you can tell. I do not like deceptive practices as IMO were employed by the ppl who sold AMS. Lets just have the testicular fortitude to call it what it is, and call it a day.

As for brash.. bah.. ignore him, I do. He lives up to his handle, enough said. :)

However when it comes to a module or what ever that has solely business/commerce applications I do not think it is wrong to ask for donations to defray development costs.

Neither do I

However, the model AMS used, and apparently the same model this module will use is NOT based on a 'donation' its based on a -fee-. There is a significant difference which is my point of contention.

Withholding a module until you give money is NOT a donation its a purchase/fee. So lets call it with it is and stop candy coating it by calling it something that it is not.

The shareware/freeware model is donation based. This is not.

There are two things at hand here that you people have to consider...

If your making a module for the simple reason of sharing it with the community, then that's great, but don't "expect" people to donate or feel that you "should" be "entitled" to get paid to recover your costs. Making modules for an open source community is not a smart "business" move.

So I feel that there are 2 situations that you should release a module to the community.

1. You have the means and don't mind eating the cost for development.

2. You are going to spend the money on development for your own business anyways, why not contribute to the community that has helped you out at the same time.

Of course that's just my 2 cents.

I could NOT agree more, well said!

This whole new attitude of shoving their costs down our throats makes me fairly ill to be honest. No one in the XOOPS community held a gun to their head to have a module developed. Why not be a man (or woman) and suck up the cost for the greater good of the community?

I run a communuty/news site. I eat the cost in the form of the ISP bill, hardware and my time every month. I do it because I beleive in the project/goal of the site. I wish more people here felt the same way.

Charity is a good thing.
