I am evaluating what tool I should use as my main article tools. I need to be able to publish more than one article on the first page, visible to all not just registered users. I also need to be able to use a couple of categories of articles that I would like to show to different groups of users.

TinyD seems right, but I can only show one article on the first page....

Any advice would be welcome.....

I just reinstalled my testsite www.falke.nu with the latest version of Xoops. Suddenly only a few themes work.... the rest gives me just a blank page.

Themes with problems are for example:
obs_green
Zaja_green
dragon_q
karate_redux

Can anybody give me a hint?

Well no working link on that site.... so I did some searching. Its called robotstats now. But there have been now updates in a year.

The documentation lacks important facts but I got it running in a couple of hours.

I also found SpiderLog and have installed that to for evaluationg.

Still none of them are able to send me email when google visited my site and I need that.... any ideas or tips?

My old site is made with Pmachine that has a function for sending email to the administrator when google has visited.

Is there a function in XOOPS or an easy way to implement it, so that XOOPS behaves the same way?

Yes, I understand that people are busy.....

But I think some explanation on how group and module settings works together, combined with some tips and tricks how to make a normal site would be very useful for the newbies. I think that some of the pitholes are there for almost everybody... right?

Ahhhh.... thanks mate, that did the trick!

Was it possible to get that from the documentation?

I really think such a good application like XOOPS could benefit a lot with a more appropriate documentation.

I have been playing around with XOOPS for a couple of weeks but I have a major problem that I am not able to find a solution to....

I need to produce articles/news that anonomous users can read on the front page, just as the first page of Xoops.org has some articles on its first page....

I must be stupid but I have tried the builtin news, WF and Soapbox without being able to show just a list of articles on the first page for anonomous users.....

Pelase... some guidence is needed urgently.....
