BuilderB -

Any updates? I've got a site that this module would be perfect for. I'm perfectly fine with beta code, as it would be better than any other alternatives that I've seen.

As you can see by the activity of this thread, you've got a module that is badly wanted/needed by the community. I appreciate the work you've put into it so far, and look forward to seeing where it goes from here. If I can help in any way, even if it's just testing, count me in.

Richard,

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any way to download any of the themes on that page. I tried logging in, just in case it was for members only. No dice. I even used IE to see if that would help. Nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

John

I found a theme called seven_blue over at xoops-themes.org but it isn't available as a download.

Does anyone know where I can get it?

Thanks!

I'm new to xoops, so forgive me for being a little slow to comprehend. Is this something that will let me change each page of content genererated by c-jay, or just set one title for all pages generated by c-jay content?

Where do I insert this line?

Thanks!

John

Hack that should become a feature

I posted a question a few days ago about what I thought was a hack or undocumented feature of c-jay content. A site that was announced here (http://oakvillechamber.com) is using c-jay content for a lot of it's pages, and is setting the title of the page through the url, like this:http://oakvillechamber.com/modules/cjaycontent/index.php?id=22&title=Home

I thought it was a hack to c-jay content, and posted for help both here and at c-jay.net. The author of c-jay content responded that the hack was not on c-jay content, but on XOOPS itself, as he was able to set the title of any page on the site by adding the variable to the address.

Setting the title to the name of the module is fine for modules that have a single use (forum, gallery, news, etc...), but for modules like wfsection, freecontent, and c-jay content, having the ability to change the name in the browser title would be great. The site I'm working on now has over 20 pages of content generated by c-jay content. It would be nice if every page didn't display "Site Name - Cjay Content - Internet Exploder 6.0", but rather a name that better described the content.

I have pm'd the person who posted the announcement for the site (kjs222), asking how he did it, but have yet to get a response. If anyone could figure this out, I think it would be a great hack to have in the toolbox (I know I'll use the heck out of it), and might be worth adding to future releases.

Comments?

John

Question about C-Jay Content

I've been playing with c-jay content today and have been very happy with the results.

There is one thing I haven't been able to figure out: Every page come up with "Cjay content" in the titlebar of the browser. I saw a site using cjay that had descriptive names of the pages in the titlebar. It looked like they were appending &title=pagename# in the browser address. I tried that but nothing changed.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks.

John

Check your permissions. I just had this happen to me today. My problem was that the cjaycontent directory didn't have proper permissions. Once I fixed that, the error went away.

Chainsaw,

Thanks! All I needed was to see a page with a graphic on it to see how the path appeared in the code. You used an absolute path to your picture. I tried that, but started with "www" instead of "http://www". Made all the difference in the world.

I guess it can't handle relative urls (starting from the wfsection directory, the html directory, or anywhere else I could think to start from, which is fine, as long as I can get it to work.

As a backup plan, I uploaded the lateset c-jay content last night. I may play with that as well, to see which offers the most flexibility. Personally, I'd much rather build my own html and wrap it with something like c-jay or freecontent, but I have to make something that someone can modify and update through the browser, so here I am.

Thank you once again. I hate going to bed at night on the losing end of a battle, but at least today has a much better chance of being a good day, thanks to you.

John

PS. I've been following the threads concerning your site. You've done an excellent job. I started to show your site to my pastor, but then had second thoughts, because I was afraid it would raise his expectation levels a little too high.

I am trying to set up a website for my church using xoops. The ultimate goal is for the church staff to be able to update the site on their own for the most part.

What I need is a module that they can use to create static pages using a wysiwyg editor in their browser. From what I read in this forum, wfsection was the way to go.

I have it installed, and am trying to create a page. My #1 problem is inserting a picture. I have tried putting the images in just about every directory, and have tried every path I can think of to get to them, both relative and absolute. All I manage to get is a little red "X". It's driving me absolutely nuts. Also, when I saved the page to see where it was located so that maybe I could put the pics in the same directory, I couldn't find it. Is everything stored in the db?

As you can see, I am majorly confused. Maybe I'm not even using the right module for what I need to do. Can someone either help me get this working, or suggest a module that will serve my purposes better, before I pull out what little hair I have left?

Thanks.

John
