When I responded earlier, I had assumed that you wanted to restore the webmaster group. I failed to see (though you spelled it right out) that you were talking about users rather than groups.

Having said that...

Why do you want to set a user's primary key (uid) to 1? I can see an issue with a group not having a primary key of 1, but I fail to see any issues with a user not having the primary key of 1.

Keep in mind that I was just using the "quota" field as a specific example of the generic issue.

Perhaps in addition to the "checkRight" method on the groupperm object, there could also be a "getValue" or "getPermission" method that would retrieve the value of the permission as opposed to a yes/no.

In the specific example I was talking about, the module would get the quota permission and then deny or allow it. This as opposed to the permission object saying yes or no.

This permission system is great when you just want to say if each category has permission to access a certain category. The key word being "if", as in "yes" or "no".

What about when, in addition to the yes/no's (checkboxes), you'd also like to get a number (textbox) from them? For example, in the xcGallery module, you have a lot of yes/no permissions but then you also have a textbox for the quota that each group is allowed to utilize in disk space.

Am I correct that the current version of the group permissions form only allows for checkboxes? If so, will a future version allow textboxes as well?

Thank you. Hopefully at least a couple people will take your excellent suggestions (facts) to heart.

If you are familiar with phpMyAdmin, you can edit the "groups" table and set your "webmaster" group primary key to 1.

Antek, please tell me how Herko could possibly know when a release date for 2.1 is? He had said that he HOPES to have a BETA out in the summer. If he can't pinpoint a date on a beta, he surely can't do much better on a stable release.

I know your anxious, as we all are, but please... Patience.

Might I suggest that next time you have more to add to a thread that's already been started, that you add it to THAT thread as opposed to starting a new one? Especially when you are already going through the trouble of adding a link to the other thread and even more especially when the previous thread was yours to begin with.

It makes it easier for people to search and discover your solution when it's all in a nice single thread.

Good job all the same!

There is also the XOOPS repository of modules on SourceForge. Only problem with those is lack of descriptions.

One could create a block that interfaces with a Ventrilo server to display such information as the number of people currently in a particular chat room and who they are. Perhaps even a link that when clicked would open up a Ventrilo client.

Back in the not so recent past, I was thinking of creating such a block. However, I've altered my course and no longer have any plans to do so.

WOO-HOO! I think I found it.

As far as I've been able to figure out, session_id() will give you the current user's session id.
