If you look closely, you start to comment out the item info on line 4 (<span class="itemPoster...>) but close the comment on line 7 (</div>-->)

Therefore on line 3, you've got a <div class="itemInfo"> which would normally be closed off on line 7, but isn't because it's been commented out. This is causing items to nest.

Therefore, either start your comment on line 3, or end the comment at the end of line 6.

Wahoo! Looking forward to it!

I'm in total agreement that choice is best. I know with other CMS systems, my main bug-bear has been the rigidity with which content within a module is displayed. I don't think, given the talent on the team, it would be too much of an issue to make the said improvements AND allow the the site administrator to decide which layout he/she prefers.

Yeah, I have PHPadmin installed as well, though up to press I've only used it to add or edit data, not to make a back-up, so ican't really help you any further on that one. Sorry.

I think this one is a matetr of opinion. Personally, if I've created sub-categories it is because I want to sperate them from the parent, and therefore I like things the way they are.

Having all the news from sub-categories appear when you click on the parent would be a bit like having all the posts appear in a forum before you've selected a topic. But that's just my opinion, and opinions have been getting people into trouble of late

You don't happen to have cPanel on your host do you? Would be a lot easier to just click on "back up database" on that!

If you mean the colour of the header on, for example, this site, the hex code is:

#2F5376

Yeah, I can see what's bugging you, and it has been (and still is) one of the implementation issues I'm currently facing myself on one of my sites. If it's JUST a common log in you're after, I might be able to get somebody to have a look at it, though I can't promise anything. I'm not a programmer myself, but a freelance PHP developer did offer some free help on my site. I'll ask him if he's got the time to have a look at integrating the logins and profiles.

At this point, I'd just like to say that Herko was right when he closed the other thread. Things got way out of control, and there was a lot of animosity floating around... that's not what the XOOPS community is about. For my part, I'd like to appologise, and hope that everyone else involved can do the same.

Max,

What I might consider doing for one of my own sites, where I do need a more mature BB, is simply have it as a seperate entity. For example, I disallow comments so the only reason somebody would log into my site is to use the forums or to PM other members. Therefore there's no reason that the forum can't be completely seperate from the main XOOPS site, which I use for news delivery etc, but sharing a common header, theme etc to give the impression of being fully integrated. Still with me?

It's not going to be the best solution for ever, but it might help until the required integration is available.

Gareth
