You are a person respected and wanted here. You have exposed opinions and suggestions very guessed right. But I believe that after as much speaking we cannot be eternally thinking who form the Teams or that is what they must do, or if they are too many Teams. Right, there are errors, failures.

You have much to contribute, please, try to help us....explains your ideas in Core Dev, do your suggestions on documentation, look at here and gives us your opinion. We needed to begin to work, to offer to xoopers new developments, an appropriate documentation etc. The present structure of XOOPS is transitory, had big errors. Yes, but if we did not work everybody will get tired of single speaking without results.

Totally agree with you. Catz's run for a Project Leader has totally bad timing, and creates more problems than solves.

DJ is new in this and I am OK with the progress so far. Plus I have a full respect for him for all his work on the modules. So until he fails, I don't see a need to spend energy of so many people on discussions like this.

Let's focus the energy on making a difference. If we don't like something, speak up, provide your reasoning, and offer a solution.

But let's give DJ a chance to move the project forward. Let's ask him to communicate his goals/objectives, and then let's see if he delivers. But let's make sure that we help him in getting there - this is Open Source project where we have to work as a team.

Catz raises several good points, but the timing was not the best....

Not a good move, James! This is really regrettable!!!

I sense frustration, but I wish you would stick around to make sure that XOOPS succeeds....

I wish you all well - and I sincerely hope DJ can alter his current leadership style to better suit the future of this community. It would be nice to one day see XOOPS at the top of the CMS votes again.

Just when I thought that things are FINALLY getting better, now another departure!!!

Can't we all just start working as a team for the good of XOOPS?

I don't any details, so I don't know if the issues were addressed with DJ before Jen's decision, but if not, could we give a chance to address any issues, even in public, before we make the decision to leave? There are always some miscommunications going on, so let's try to talk to each other before deciding to leave...

Any comments from DJ on that?

But I think and I feel that the local supportsites are important sites that throug the years have build their one usergroup and have got their own identity. I think, from that perspective that it's not nessesary and maybe even not wanted that they have to give up there onw identity by giving up their URL and personal design. It's my personal opinion that this would be a great loss

Loss of what? If this is about:

- being part of XOOPS world family
- support for XOOPS

then what is wrong with having a consistent "look & feel" across all support domains?

Sure, almost every Webmaster wants to show off his/her skills and wants to make changes, but why not to use your own Website to show it off, but stick to a standard "look & feel" of the "official" local XOOPS support site?

We have to be more "customer driven" in our thinking. If a user who speaks 2-4 languages wants to switch from US site to German and then to French support site, why do we want him to spend several minutes before he figures out the local design and navigation, because everybody has something totally different?

Wouldn't it be easier for him if the sites would be consistent in their design?

There should be a difference between an "official" support site, and Joe's, Jean's, or Johann's personal XOOPS oriented Website.

I have worked with XOOPS for several years. I am interested in helping on the promotion of XOOPS. I have been helping on XOOPS marketing & promotion before and as part of my marketing study I made a marketing plan for XOOPS Netherlands together with a co-student.

This change in management gives us the opportunity to get XOOPS on top again. I hope this new setting will be a good foundation for promotion and marketing of XOOPS and I am willing to put in my share.

I'll try to help you if my time permits.

phppp,

awesome news!

I hope, you'll be able to utilize ideas from other developers within XOOPS community. For example, the work done in Mexico on XOOPS EXM:

https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3516

is awesome!

As I said over there few days ago:

"I truly hope that we won't have to deal with a "Not invented here" syndrome, and that the Core developers will actively look for cool ideas from the community and implement them. "

Well, I would love to see monthly or quarterly financial report from the XOOPS Foundation. This is one of those "secret" activities than we don't have an easy reporting on.

For example, if you go to:

https://xoops.org/modules/xdonations/

we don't have a list of donors, and we don't have a link to a financial report. Apache foundation has a link to financial reports. We really should learn something from them...

I really don't understand why we don't have a clear view of who is in charge of what, and then what are their responsibilities, so then they can be hold publicly accountable.

I agree. I really don't understand why is it so hard for Skalpa or somebody else to sit down and spent 10-15 minutes to write about the current status.

It doesn't have to be long and elaborated, but just simply to share with us the current work and what else can we expect.

What we see again and again - people are getting impatient with the "mystery core team" which seems to be developing on Mars and therefore we don't hear anything from them.

I am very concerned with the departure of many good people from XOOPS, and the silence is not helping.

Somehow I don't understand why a project that should be an "OPEN Source" project, became seemingly a "CLOSED or MYSTERY source" project, where no code is being posted in the repository where the community can check it out.
