Glad to help. Seems the offer is good until midnight central time US Tuesday (today). So if having problems (their site is getting hammered) keep trying.

To anyone in need of CrossOver Office

Received this today from the CEO at CodeWeavers:

Quote:
Specifically, I had no idea when we launched the CodeWeavers Lame Duck
Challenge:
http://lameduck.codeweavers.com
that George Bush would take it so seriously. And it was truly
remarkable of him to engineer a complete collapse of our financial
industry just to prove he could meet my challenge. My fault; I had
thought he would try more prudent methods.

However, this does create a great opportunity for you to spread the word
about CrossOver, as tomorrow, anyone can get a fully functioning, fully
supported copy of CrossOver, for free. Existing customers can get
another year of support, again for free. It's a great day for any
CrossOver user, and a great time for anyone to try CrossOver.

If you are interested, now is the time to grab it - for free no less.
I have been advocating for them for quite some time now, and it is a paid version of wine that works very well with some applications (check the compatibility for the application you want to run). But runs windows applications on Linux or Mac.

Re: Shoutbox version 4 - setting for left column

Thanks for the help. It seems that the buttons are too wide to fit in the column. I got the text field to fit without trouble, but the buttons caused it to be too wide for my column.

Shoutbox version 4 - setting for left column

I just downloaded and installed the new version 4 of shoutbox. Great job with this module, I love the captcha feature for guest posting.

I tried to set it to the left column on my WarPigW2 site but it over ran out of the column. I had to move it to the center block to let it keep my sites theme format correct.

Is there some setting I must adjust to get it to fit properly in the left or right column?

TIA

Re: AMS 2.51 Final on xoops 2.3.1

Hi John,

I am using AMS 2.51 on XOOPS 2.3.1 on WarPigW2.com. Seems to work well.

Re: Woopra - Real Time Stats

Well I installed the new version.....same problem.

I looked a woopra.php and did the following:

at
// put guest info

$woo_username $xoopsConfig['guest'];

$woo_avatar XOOPS_UPLOAD_URL "/blank.gif"."' title='Avatar' alt='Avatar' />";
    echo
"var woopra_visitor = new Array();rn";
    echo
"woopra_visitor['name'] = '" $woo_username "';rn";
    echo
"woopra_visitor['avatar'] = '".$woo_avatar."';rn";
}

I did:
// put guest info

$woo_username $xoopsConfig['guest'];

$woo_avatar XOOPS_UPLOAD_URL "/blank.gif"."' title='Avatar' alt='Avatar' />";
    echo
"var woopra_visitor = new Array();rn";
#    echo "woopra_visitor['name'] = '" . $woo_username . "';rn";
#    echo "woopra_visitor['avatar'] = '".$woo_avatar."';rn";
}

And it now detects anonymous users. I also edited anonymous to guest - what I call non logged in users on my site.

Re: XOOPS 2.3: WF-Links & MyTube compatibility

I agree backwards compat is good, but then again times are changing. Lots of 2.3 is going in the direction of a more secure site. I would say I would rather have a broken old code module not work than be compatible with "possible" unsecure code.

From what I have seen XOOPS has done a fine job at backwards compatibility. But not wanting to upgrade your modules to a new code base shows signs of lazyness.

Re: Woopra - Real Time Stats

Hello zyspec,

Upon initial testing of the module, it mostly works great. It pulls the details from the users and displays them in the desktop app including avatar, email, join date and so on.

The only problem I have found (and I tested with the code in the theme and the block method) it does not seem to detect anonymous users. Even myself if I log off the site am excluded from detection. I tested again with the stock woopra code and it detected anonymous uses fine.

Thanks for your work on this module.

Re: Mor.pho.GEN.e.Sis English Docs/Tutorials

Thanks stefan88,

That is a nice overview of features and organization. At the moment I am mainly interested in the global nav bar - adjusting the links for my site and modules. I tried editing the globalnav.html but did not seem to change anything. Lots of smarty variables included - will have to do some more testing I guess before I can get it right.
