Hi Xoopers!

I'm trying to set up a second install of XOOPS in a subdomain, for development and testing purposes. Right now, I have the subdomain files in a subdirectory under the main XOOPS directory for my site. This is problematic, however.

I used Fantastico to auto-install, and it just put 2 files in that folder. Well I get a home page, but when I log into the admin menu, I get the admin menu of my main site, meaning I can't really do anything with the 2nd install.

I know it's possible to do this, afterall, there's www.xoops.org, and dev.xoops.org. What do I need to do? I could set it up under a seperate hosting partition, or do I need a full copy of XOOPS to upload into it?

Sincerely Confuzzed,

I'm not building for a church, but I am using XOOPS to build a christian web portal. If you guys would like your churches listed in my directory, send me a PM on my site with your info.

Hi EMS Guy. Welcome.

Yes, XOOPS does rock!

Kaotik...

I'm using 0.82. Did the 0.83 that you guys are testing now fix this? I saw in dev.xoops.org, that you have the bug logged.

Just to clarify, the error wasn't WebMail's fault, it was my webhost's.

Sorry if I contributed to any confusion, Flyingtux.

PS - Kaotik, I seem to remember Draven and Tom knowing of a webmail application where users can create new accounts, etc. May save you some time, should you decide to go that way

As it turned out, it was my webhost's fault. Apparently, they were uploading some new security software or something.

Thanks guys,

I'm having a crash problem now too.

Fatal error: Unable to connect to database in /home/christ/public_html/class/database/databasefactory.php on line 34

Is that the same error you got Kaotik?

Also, I noticed that when you go into the admin menu to make chages, it will go through the normal process, but none of the changes will actually take. You get the "Database Updated" screen, but when you re-access the admin menu, you get the default settings.
