Hello Carnuke

Cheers. No way would i have been able to do this without the info you have provided. I still have to carry out your proposals but well i ain't really bothered cos with a test site i can make **** ups and not be too upset. I tend to learn from mistakes usually.

By the way how did you know i drink whisky? Though running this new site has kind of kept me off the stuff. Bad enough being sober developing a new site.

I am going to be providing file downloads soon. Maybe trial software etc. Not sure this site will benefit if i store XOOPS files but will look into it.

Again thanks for the info.

Hi

I have a new test site where i need to make an exact copy of my original XOOPS site. Backing up the database is something i have not yet undertaken. Even so will such a method work? By this i mean backing up my main site database and then using that to create a copy on a new test site? The new test site is on another account under a different domain name. I should think file associations are going to be messed up?

Please advise.

Cheers

Hi

Hows the subforum hack developing? Could really do with it cos i am installing a humungous board. Without subforums they gonna need to hold the mouse down for 1/2 an hour to get to the bottom . Is there a way to put a link list on the top for now? Like bookmarking without knackering the whole thing?

Hi

I use a bbclone bblcone. Stats are quite good and it is dead easy to install. Doesn't slow up the site one bit. Would like it to show screen resolutions but that has not been implemented by the looks of it. All i use it for really is a counter and not as a full tracking device.

Hi JackJ

Cheers. Found the box underneath the group section. Hadn't noticed it before. Everything is fine now.

Hi

When i make someone a Moderator or Webmaster everything seems to go ok. When that person logs on though there is no Administration button for them and also the Site Info does not show them as being either a Moderator or Webmaster. Yet on the new user list it shows them as being as i have altered them - Moderator or Webmaster. I though am the only one that shows on the Site Info box, and i am the only one who can access admin?

Bit new to this so bound to be my fault somewhere along the line.

Hi

How can i tidy up the categories on Web Link. I notice on Yellow Pages they have already done this. At the moment they list in 3 columns in a table and the column widths are obviously not equal.

Great Product this Xoops
