Hey, I didn't know we had a PDA page. I took a look at the source code and it appears to do something very straight forward like grab some info from the news module.

What is actually required (I think) is a 2 things:

1 - A theme set that is suitable for PDAs
2 - A mechanism within XOOPS initialisation that recognises the browser type and uses the PDA theme if appropriate

That way you can present the same info but in different formats, have your logon capability etc.

A refinement for this would be for modules to recognise that they are running in a PDA browser somehow and limit their output accordingly but I think the XOOPS core would need some modifications to provide the 'PDA Aware' capability that all mod devs could use to make this realistic.

Patrick

You can't differentiate the page according to the parameters passed to it. The base page name is the key that is used to access the keywords. You would need to modify the include/metatags.php file to capture the parameters and modify the keyword generation to your requirements.

BTW, there is a support forum for metatags at xoobs.net

The closest there is is a subscriptions module and the xAsset module, both of which support payments by PayPal at the very least. Search this site for the mods. You may be able to extract the payments processing from them.

One or other of these mods requires you to pay a license fee to use the payments processing. As an alternative you may wish to explore integrating commercially available payment processing software into your XOOPS site. The bottom line is that you are probably going to have to pay to get payment processing, which is not unreasonable given that you expect payment for your goods

edit -- PS, you may also want to look at the kshop module. Not sure where payments is with that at the moment.

Mark

Ted has it. Just a suggestion to him. Perhaps he could roll it up with the xoopscare module implementor cus I still reckon it's a natural home for it rather than having two mods doing all this backend auto housekeeping.

Not without hacking the code. It is a good idea though but needs some thinking through, and possibly matching up with something like smartmail to handle the actual group mailing side.

Rabideau,

Assuming you are not hosting yourself, does your hoster not provide this functionality. I only ask 'cus all three that I use, do.

If that doesn't work, you could put together a little php script yourself and then use the xoopscare module to run it. Actually, the author of xoopscare (see here) might be persuaded to add your functional requirement to his module, its seems to fit nicely.

If you can't write the php code yourself, take a look at http://www.phpclasses.org/ and various other php script repositories. Its usually the first place I look when I need php code.
