If you are using the default text editor that comes with XOOPS there is a button there for the image manager. It's next to the image button, has the same icon but also has the word 'manager' next to it... just reply to this post and you should see it

Try changing your css again as JasonMR suggested. Your css for that image seems to be empty. It should be as Jason posted for it to work. Check the xoops.css file again.

All versions of XOOPS come with the modules/system folder. I suggest you try downloading XOOPS again, sounds like your copy might have been corrupted.

On the edit forum page there's a field for allowed extensions. I've added doc to that list, and it seems to work perfectly.

I'm using the latest download from the dev forge, btw. Not sure if it was available in earlier versions.

If I remember correctly the Smarty download has a demo folder, with example templates and an index.php file. I suggest you look for it, it's a nice example of how to use Smarty.

Smarty isn't a tool, there is no interface... it's a templating engine. This effectively means that you put Smarty elements in a html template (as in the demo templates) and the Smarty engine takes care of exchanging those elements for data from your database. The php code (as in the demo index.php file) is where the template is declared and data is assigned to the Smarty elements.

Xoops has Smarty built into it, take a look at the template files for the news module to see how to work with it.

Good luck with it all

off-topic, yet related... I just got that same error trying to connect to xoops.org. After 5 refreshes it finally loaded the page.

I just mention it here because it's sort of related and I don't know where else to report it

You only need to install the actual module folder, not all the folders that come with the download. So for pp-news, for example, look for the PP-News folder in html/modules/ , that's the one you need to install in modules/[modulename] folder of xoops, as Mith said.

What program are you using to edit the file? Just curious, as it seems to be making a mess of your html.

Try something like this:
<table cellPadding=2 border=0>
<
tr>
<
td colSpan=2>
<
font face="Bookman Old Style" color=#560081>Getting along to a painting convention is a recipe for a really great time. It is at such events you get to meet a great range of painters – from beginners to the very experienced, from those starting out in their own journey of discovery to those well known via publications and publicity. No matter where they come from, they are all great to rub shoulders with! The greatest advantage of attending these events is if you have planned them right and booked the right classes you will be learning something new on a regular basis.<br></font>
</td></tr>

Catzwolf was right, you don't need tbody. You also don't need all the < br > 's , they end up given you empty new lines.

Hope this helps.

Try xoopsgallery. They've got a new version out which works great on my site. Make sure to use the version on the developer's site though, the one here at xoops.org is not the latest and has less options re user permissions.
