How can i put a 1 to the option Select the number of news items to display on top page of the news module? i can only see 5, 10... etc.

The issue was the field topic_frontpage it was 0 in all the topics. Now is 1 and works perfectly.

I cant visualize stories frome the stories module.

I installed the module successfully. Afet that i took old (old version of the module) database tables xoops_stories and xoops_topics and modified them to have the same structure of the new tables (new version of the module). And now, I can see all my articles correctly. I can edit them, see statistics, etc...

But when i enter to the module as a user, i can only see the dropdown topics list and after that i see:

(1) 2 3 4 ... 62 »
(nothing here)
(1) 2 3 4 ... 62 »

If i select a topic from the dropdown, I can see the stories correctly.

If i enter to the module (to see the empty page again) and click to go to the second articles page, the browser url turns from:

.../html/modules/news/

to:

.../html/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=0&start=5

and if i modify the last numbers specifically the topic one to:

.../html/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=1&start=0

It shows me the last topics.

When browsing the table xoops_topics, i realize that i dont have any topic with id 0.

Can you help me?

I sell books. I have around 12,000 titles from a lot of authors. I would like to know what is the best module in your experience for that author's biographies management.

I think that news could be a good one but im already using it for articles management. Caould I clone it successfully without making conflict with its "brother"? Is there a better choice thar cloning?

New languages come with an install script and they install themselves in your xoops.

So, I dont think that jus copying the folder and renaming will work.

I think that you have to add blocks.

Each module, forums, news, etc, installs its own blocks, you just need to configure them.

Do it in Admin / Blocks.

When creating them, set them visible in Homepage.

I recently started making some tests in a local server running WBEL 3, PHP 4.2.3-25, Apache 2.0.46-54, MySQL 3.23.58-15. I made the instalation almost fine except for the problem that I was not able to use another MySQL user but root.

By the way, that is not too important now because it's MY server.

Im nom having trouble when i insert a search block in the left column of my site, it only displays the title of the block "search" but no search box and no link on it. It also reports me the following error:

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_block_search.html" in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1084

Im using XOOPS 2.2.3a that i just downloaded from esxoops.com

Any help will be apreciated.
