this is the email i received back from the hosting company.

----------------
Your path currently shows as correct in both the Xoops
config file and the Environment Site Tool.

The following are common paths required to configure your CGI/Perl scripts.

Perl 5 Location
#!/usr/bin/perl

Sendmail Location
/usr/lib/sendmail

Full or Absolute root path for Non-forwarded Domains:
We recommend using the DOCUMENT ROOT environment variable to automatically insert
the path in your Perl script:

$ENV{'HOMEDIR'}/www

You may have to use "double quotes" around the path.

For example the full path to your www directory would be:
"$ENV{'HOMEDIR'}/www"

Full or Absolute root path for Forwarded Domains (eg. yourdomain.com forwarded to
/www/yourdomain.com/):
$ENV{'HOMEDIR'}/www/yourdomain.com

The full path to your cgi-bin directory would be:
"$ENV{'HOMEDIR'}/cgi-bin"
-------------------------------------

does this mean i need to add
$ENV{'HOMEDIR'}/www
somewhere in the mainfile.php?

I receive this error

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run.

I have not changed anything in months, I did a search for this problem and found 2 topics and tried everything they listed. I am running XOOPS 2.014 and php version 4.3.10

I ran test.php on my server and apparently my host DID change my physical path, I have went into the mainfile.php and changed

define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH'

to the correct physical path.

I have also changed

define('XOOPS_CHECK_PATH', 1);

to

define('XOOPS_CHECK_PATH', 0);

This did not correct the problem either I still get the error message. Please help me as my site is live and need to get it back online as soon as possible. Thanks.

I recently moved XOOPS from /mainfolder/xoops/html/ to the /mainfolder/ of my site. I then changed the addresses in mainfile.php to reflect these changes. Now whenever I try to add rss feeds to RSS CENTER it keeps taking me directly to www.cpan.org. It takes me there when i click "modify" or try to add a new feed. It also takes me to www.cpan.org when i try to hit "save" to initialize the table. I have already looked for the storyfile.php file that was mentioned on another help topic, but the code is not there. Please help. Thanks Edit: This same thing happens now when I try to click validate articles. it takes me to www.cpan.org

I have a site where users can select from 3 or 4 themes so they can pick their favorite layout.

How can I set it up so they can save the one they want to be their theme instead of it always going back to the default theme when they log in?

Hello, I was on my website earlier today and now it isn't working. I get a blank screen on my browser but the other people I have gotten to try the site said it was the typical not found page. I've tried all of the things in the FAQ to try to get debug options on but I cannot get to the admin screen. Could this be something wrong with my server? I am using the latest xoops, the site has been up for about a month with no problems and after I posted something on the message board the site didnt come up anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I fixed it, i read somewhere that a guy said he just added a bunch of users to his MySQL database so i just tried that and for some reason it worked.
