How easy would it be hijackingthe comments function and with a bit "of cut and paste coding" hacking it so that all comments are dual posted into the forum database

sounds simple at first thought
surely not:)

Great idea the newsletter.
Though would have felt perhaps the major changes in the XOOPS devs may have justified a seperate post on here.

Understand much may be going on in background, but if possible any chance of a "heads up" on future development/direction of xoops

thinking about it
there was a view all comments module for earlier xoops, think was from one of the far east sites

suppose a quick dirty way to do it would be a clone "recent comments" center block showing in a empty module

reference the "view comments page"
think the main meat is allready done via
the comment manager in system admin

shouldn't take that much to transfer it to a module
should it ? :)

theres a XOOPS module called lastposts which gives opportunity to view the last n amount of posts in a seperate module page
think max is 40 or all but suppose easily hacked
http://gererstorfer.net/
is the url in version info

I use it with most active and most read center boxes to give a sort of forum summary page
hope helps

ps

how about one of XOOPS site ops setting it up on here, as sometimes amount of new posts means miss a fair bit of info sometimes
