I have some good news. I have finally got round to getting a programmer to build us a subscription service for XOOPS that would initially be intergrated to Paypal but will also be availble for 2checkout, nochex and other payment systems.

This script is costing me some money and i am making this a part contribution to xoops, however i find that i will have to charge a very low price just to cover my costs. I believe that $10 for the script should be surfice. I would like to know if you are interested in this though. The script will work as follows:

- Buyer clicks on "Register"
- Buyer gets told about subscription
- Buyer gets sent to PayPal
- Buyer pays subscription
- A new username and password is created for the user
- The buyer is sent the new username and password
- The Admin gets sent details of the new user.

I will also have a mod in which there will be 2 groups, free and paid. When a user registers they get automatically put into the free group and is limited to the pages that you set. However, they will have the option to upgrade. Once paid through paypal they will be automatically boosted up to the paid group.

Please let me know of your thoughts to this.

I've been a way from XOOPS for quite a while due to college work. I need two questions answered though, one slightly more straight forward than the other.

1. How can i get the username of the user that is registered to appear on a page. I.e. Welcome [User]

2. Is there a way to have the links section record all the links that you have pressed within their own control panel? Has anyone done a hack of this sort before?

Many thanks!!

Is there no way to change script to allow user to change their own username. I am workin on a mod that would give them a random username when they register. I want them to be able to change it.

It is shown as an option in edit user, jus not a changable one?!?!?!

I am working on a new module for xoops, however, i am tired and cant work out whether users can change their own username. By default i know they cant but is there an option for me to change that or do i have to get into the source code?

Many thanks

Is there a way to pull a mod from the back-end of xoops. I.e. I have access to an admin part of XOOPS and i want to be able to pull the downloads module off so i can use it on other site. I know this is possible with ftp access however i dont have this.

Anyone?

Many thanks

Are you talkin about a module that only you could see? even so, it would be difficult to get all of the passwords from an existing database as they are all encrypted. However someone out there may be able to do it.

On the xoops.org front page there is a block, normally 2nd one down, with "Latest XOOPS News". I notice this block as it strikes me as being quite clever in that there is the main news on the top half of it and then sub-catagorised news on the bottom bit. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Many Thanks
