Weird, very weird. Here's a link for the ghost thread.

Ok, this is my last shot.

Smarty gets to see the info, but it's not displayed. It's probably a permissions issue: /x/cache and /x/templates_c must be writable by the server. Are they?

Ok, help me here...
The only place where blockContent does appear is in the left column, and if you check that theme file you just linked it calls default/theme_blockleft.html for the left column and yuzan/something.html for eveything else. Now, can you edit yuzan/theme.html to point to default/something.html for each column?

I really don't believe it's worth the hassle, but since you want help and not my opinion, here's my 2c

1st: Smarty allows you to filter/change/add stuff to your output easily (check my OldTimes theme, it removes img tags), is easier to understand than plain PHP and can be hacked in themes and/or templates
2nd: you don't want to hardcode background colors or to add the copyright text to your actual data in DB (you'd be the most annoyed by that )

So I'd go for a theme based solution (because themes can deal with BG colors), but you might need to add "clues" to templates...

Do you have a test server ready?

Agreed about JS scripts

That question might be something worth more research, but I don't believe it is actually related to what is happening.

Can you set Debug to Smarty? Because I just realized that it shows blockTitle OK and borks at blockContent. If that doesn't bring anything up, please post a link to your theme (we can add diagnostics stuff to the blockContent fetcher, array walker, etc).

The specific permissions I was talking about were those of the /templates_c and /cache directories (not the files in it), if it's anything other than 777, try CHMODing both to 777.

Trying to add you to MSNM.

After you delete stuff from those directories, were they re-populated? What are the exact permissions for them? Have you tried disabling banners? Checking templates? Removing that nedstatbasic.net script?

Can you change mainfile.php to work withhttp://www.vmclinks.com/ instead ofhttp://vmclinks.com/?

Hmm
You have probably also checked mainfile.php for any problems... but sometimes hosts will change your physical paths without warnings, so double check that

If you go to your DB, is the content there?

Deactivate all modules, if it works add one by one until you find the problem. Once I had a blank screen caused by the Headlines block.

FTP to your server and delete all files in /cache and /templates_c

Did you use any hack in core files?

FTP to your server and check permissions for /cache and /templates_c, if XOOPS can't write to them things can get ugly.

Re-upload core files, except for mainfile.php, to check whether file corruption is the cause.

How did you kill the chat problem?

Hi dreamgear
I did a short research on this, as it's in my list of problems to solve (would make my life much easier right now ) and I just got a rather decent output converting a couple Word files to RTF then to HTML using DocFrac. I hope this helps you.

Edit: another clean, fast tool is wv, which can be downloaded for WIN32 fromhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32
After you install it, go to a command line at install_dir\bin and run wvware path_to_doc\docname.doc > path_for_saving\htmlfile.html
