I just added some more access rights for anon users.

You are right and blank pages are the problems
I have changed themes that did not fix the problem

Deactivate all modules, if it works add one by one until you find the problem. Once I had a blank screen caused by the Headlines block.

FTP to your server and delete all files in /cache and /templates_c

Did you use any hack in core files?

FTP to your server and check permissions for /cache and /templates_c, if XOOPS can't write to them things can get ugly.

Re-upload core files, except for mainfile.php, to check whether file corruption is the cause.

How did you kill the chat problem?

Have done all that

1) The problem does not go away even with all modules deactivated

2) Have deleted /cache and /templates_c

3) No hack in the core files.

What I did a few weeks ago was swap hosts - so it must have something to do with that I think.

I have a fresh install of XOOPS at my new host which works fine. But I guess something went wrong when I transfered the files for this domain. It was working fine at first but then slowly 1 problem after another.
1st problem was that I could not few user pages and gallery block wasn't working.

Everything else was good till now a few weeks later.

Hmm
You have probably also checked mainfile.php for any problems... but sometimes hosts will change your physical paths without warnings, so double check that

If you go to your DB, is the content there?

I did fix the pad in mainfile.php - the installation was working fine for weeks.

Yes the content is in the DB if you do a search in the search box left upper corner for keyword 'victory' you will see the content

Trying to add you to MSNM.

After you delete stuff from those directories, were they re-populated? What are the exact permissions for them? Have you tried disabling banners? Checking templates? Removing that nedstatbasic.net script?

Can you change mainfile.php to work withhttp://www.vmclinks.com/ instead ofhttp://vmclinks.com/?

> After you delete stuff from those directories, were they re-populated?

YES - I did a fresh install and repopulated the directories

> What are the exact permissions for them?

A million files / I used tar to copy them

Have you tried disabling banners?

YES

Checking templates?

YES

Removing that nedstatbasic.net script?

NO but I don't see why I been using that for like ever and everytime I have a problem somebody tells me to remove that.
It has nothing to do with XOOPS it is just a line in the template files which does not effect anything.

Can you change mainfile.php to work withhttp://www.vmclinks.com/ instead ofhttp://vmclinks.com/?

GOOD QUESTION
I have tried that a few months back and NO it does not work I get a million problems lots of people tried to help me with that, 4 sleeples nights, even guys from the core could not figure that out so I just had to go back.

Problems wore simular to what I have now that is why I am saying that this seams to be a good question

Agreed about JS scripts

That question might be something worth more research, but I don't believe it is actually related to what is happening.

Can you set Debug to Smarty? Because I just realized that it shows blockTitle OK and borks at blockContent. If that doesn't bring anything up, please post a link to your theme (we can add diagnostics stuff to the blockContent fetcher, array walker, etc).

The specific permissions I was talking about were those of the /templates_c and /cache directories (not the files in it), if it's anything other than 777, try CHMODing both to 777.
