I need a quotes module that will automatically display a new quote from a lost of quotes everyday on my website. I m not able to find any XOOPS module to do so (pls correct me if i m wrong). There are certain other php scripts that can help me with it, but these require to add a include statement



to be used.

Can i use a include statement in custom blocks. Please help.

I have notification options on in the smartsection module and cbb module. Where as in which files can i change notification to stay updated.

I want to create a section in my site which can explain visitors on how to use the site and take advantage of the various features like notification etc that XOOPS offers for the visitors. But i need to understand these features and others that XOOPS offers to the visitor of a site developed on it. Please help with this.

For the last three months that i have frequently visited this site, i have read a lot of fights on the forums. And yes i mean fights.
I almost left XOOPS because of this but alas XOOPS cms is actually very user friendly and also the fact that the community is very helpful when it comes to solving problems that are faced by the users of this cms.
So please settle your differences, its a genuine request.

As for impresscms, i do not think another fork of XOOPS is good for XOOPS but then it can turn out to be a good news for the users.
The only problem i see with impresscms is that xoopsfoundation directors are involved in the product. Literaly from law point of view, yes a director or board-member etc have a legal responsibility to not be involved with a competing project, so even though these are open source projects and they can continue to support any one or two or any number of cms but only as long as they do not hold any position in the xoopsfoundation. The actions of the xoopsfoundation board-members involved with impresscms goes against the statutes of the foundation.

So yes in your personal capacities you can support all the cms you want to but please resign from your posts first. Again to clarify XOOPS the prject is as much yours as is anyone else's but the problem is with you guys holding the posts you do and supporting a competing project.

Also its hard to digest that this inspite of being such an important event, there is no statement from the XOOPS project head phppp(DJ).

Solved

instead of replacing "index.php" with "user.php" replace "index.php" with "../../user.php" in the above said line.

on changing the above code, i get the following error

"The requested URL /modules/smartsection/user.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

i think thats because the redirection is now towardshttp://makingdestiny.com/modules/smartsection/user.php rather thenhttp://makingdestiny.com/user.php

In my site smartsection, webshow, wflinks are some of the modules i use. In all these modules submit permission are available for registered users only. The problem is that when a non-registered user clicks on these links he sees a msg that he does not have permission to post in this category and is redirected to the index page of the module. What i want is the user to be redirected to the user.php page. How should i do this?

I m trying to install the wp link directory plugin on wordpress module for xoops. After activating the plugin when i go to the directory it gives the following error


Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/makingde/public_html/modules/wordpress/directory/temp/header.php on line 16.
Is there any way to make this work.

1. In wordpress 2.2 module for XOOPS categories is spelt as Kategorien and archive as Monats Archiv. How to change these spellings?
2. Can i use the wp link directory plugin with wordpress module in xoops. If yes do i need to make any changes to any files?
