I have found a XOOPS intranet package with a good collection of the modules I have talked about.

IntranetPack:
https://xoops.org/modules/core/singlefile.php?cid=9&lid=100

Modules include:

news1.4
CBB 2.2 (discussion forums)
Dokuwiki 1.0 (documentation wiki)
MultiMenu 1.7
piCal 0.51 (calendars)
WF-Downloads 2.05a
XoopsPoll 1.0
SmartFAQ 1.04
SmartSection 1.0

Emitojleyes I cannot see a reply for this so I will add to help any intranet developers.

I have helped implement an intranet.
The XOOPS Permissions is great for this purpose.

There are a few News modules. I have used 'news' which is very simple. You control who publishes news and all users can rate each article and add comments.

Comments can be added for most XOOPS modules.

For the rest of your needs, you may use a variety of article modules (I have found 'smartsection' to be great and 'content' to be quite poor). Discussion centres (the 'newbb' module works very well for me) as a standard forum style.

I have found modules with planned organisation, e.g. folders and subfolders to be best for Intranet purposes. That way you can create many categories (e.g. security protocols, objectives, policies etc) and publish pages, articles for each.
'Smartfaq' is another good module for managing pages. Does not have to be used for FAQs. Users can then submit their own pages, request pages by title and answer requested pages.

A Document Centre (module 'dms' works well for me) is the best way to store documents (e.g. .doc / pdf / html etc) again in folder/subfolder layout.

Surveys are a good way to also gain feedback and involve staff. The module 'bmsurvey' works well for standard http sites.

Enjoy.

irmtfan: possibly,

is extra info and signiture apart of this module?
Or do you mean elsewhere in xoops?

If it is apart of this module:

how do users change it?
Is this information viewed on all pages?

Thanks again.

irmtfan

Do you suggest using XM Memberstat because of the IP and country flag status?

This is very funky but I want the user to be able to enter their status e.g. "working from home today" or "Working in London".

Or does XM Memberstat do this, and I have overlooked it?

Does this allow a user to enter a 'status' which can, preferably, be viewed on every page.

Most good community sites have them. Some have defined options (e.g. msn messenger: online, busy, away).
Most suitable for a generic XOOPS module would be a configurable status where you can enter anything (e.g. facebook.com).

I am not sure if any XOOPS module does this?

Does this module do this? Any that do?

Cheers.

Thanks very much for the tip, im looking into this.

Can you please tell me where I can find a module description for this. It doesn't actually say anywhere what it does, the functions and features etc.

Also are there any working examples ??

Many thanks, it is appreciated

Hey, im a bit lost on how to find this information out, so I hope you can help.

Do you know if a CRON Job editor exists in XOOPS.

The reason for this is to potentially add cron jobs that recreate 'Xhelp' tickets for scheduled events that will appear on an uptodate 'Today' page.

Many thanks,

Does XOOPS have a module that allows a user to enter status details as they log in that can be easily viewed.

It is important for logged in staff to see which branch/department users are working at or which client they are visting etc.

The who's online module shows where users are virtually on the site, I also want to show where the users are physically in the world.

Can XOOPS do this? Any modules exist for this?
Additional status info could be used for almost any XOOPS site.

Cheers.

I have just installed smartfactory's smartsection content module and already I have a problem.
I fill in the form to create a category, click 'create' and I only get a blank page.
I cannot do anything without any categories.

( XOOPS 2.0.15 and SmartSection 2.13 (Final, I believe)

Is this a common problem, what can I do?
I do have the 'content' module installed as well but I dont think this should cause the problem.

Help appreciated
