Just thought i'd let you know there is a spammer targeting XOOPS sites.

hes registered with this site under the name olenax00011.

i investigated his website address and found it on Loads of XOOPS run websites.

In Europe Iframe Hotlinking can actually be ilegal if you dont have permission from the owner of the site you are hotlinking to. Dont where the law stands where you are but it might the same.

If it can be proved it can be seen as copyright theft.

Best avoid it if you dont have permission.

However if the site has embed tags then rest assured you will be allowed to emded it into your site.

actually there is someone spamming all XOOPS sites at the moment. he signed up to both of my sites and i thought it was strange since he used 2 different email address but it was the same website that the emails originated from and in the profile it was the same website link on both.

I pasted the website address (without the http bit) into google and a whole list of sites came up with his profiles on them. One of them being this website. The Xoops.org team have already spotted his spam and have marked his name with [spammer].

If youve got protector use it, also ban the email addresses of each of the sites he spams you with by using $ after each url in user info settings.

the adsense code works fine on your home page.

Are you trying to add it to your articles in smartsection. If so then make sure HTML is enabled and you post the full code.

rabideau: it isnt the admin footer, the tag dalex2006 has mentioned is the footer that gets used in almost ALL XOOPS themes to display the XOOPS footer. You can edit it within admin but it isnt the admin footer.

Anywhere you wish to paste it, usually down the bottom.

But this all depends on how your theme has been designed as you may have to place it within a table or resize the foot within your style.css file.

I want mobile/cell phone visitors of my site to be redirected to a phone friendly page. Is this posible in xoops?

go to your blocks section and click on "edit" to edit a block.

Down near the bottom there should be an option to choose which news sections you want the block to extract its news from. Press ctrl and select the ones you want to show using your mouse.

That should make them apear.

Do this with all yer news blocks.

This module would be no good to me.

One of the blocks would need to contain the player itself and an option to load the player into a popup.

Solved.

Had to hack line 226 in article.php

Quote:

And it looks alot better.

And I still have no clue as to where this smarty tag is. i tried putting it into one of the news templates and it didnt work.
