Re: Fedora 5.0 is there - Is XOOPS compatible

JMoris:

It might take some experience to install php3 on FC5 which the person is obviously lacking.

I'm not saying it's hard, there is lot's of info, but yum will not provide you with easy update to php3 which is the most stable, with php4 so so stabe and some problems, and php5 that will never see the mainstream in production environment as it includes more bugs and overhead than WinOS

Re: hosting problem!

whoa wait a minute:

They told you that info about php now tell me what's the system you are on, what's the the memory, cpu, what else is on your site, how many users a day, etc.

There are many other things that need to be looked at, do you have any odd modules installed like chat, lookup, database intensive ones. You really have to check what script is so intensive on cpu and db. As I always thought XOOPS is not database friendly it uses way too many calls to database (but it never should be a problem to such extent).

As andycornell wrote in previous post we need more info.

Re: Fedora 5.0 is there - Is XOOPS compatible

Bululin:

Yes FC5 is released and there is nothing incompatible there with xoops, it has apache2 php5 myslq4 and other things that I had tested almost a year ago on FC4 with testing new releases. Personally I don't like FC5 especially when there are hundreds of things that are broken... There is the end in fedoras especially when redhat decided to take development inhouse...

So the short answer is you will be able to use FC5 with XOOPS as long the modules do not fail completely if used in php5. (I have not used any module that would fail miserabely on php5 only some notifs)

Good luck!

dev.xoops.org modules

I need something similar (not to such extent) as dev.xoops.org is using for projects. Particularly I'm looking for xfmod, but have not seen this module anywhere around. It looks similar to gforge for me. Can someone direct me to where this module is available?

Not sure what is used also on xftrove, xfnewrelease etc. are these custom modules? Any light on this issue would be nice Thanks.

Re: Help with custom block

Not sure what do you mean try to trash fetch but if you connect through ftp client try using FileZilla (or other ftp client) connect to your xoopsroot/templates_c/ folder and remove all files from there. Do not remove templates_c folder, if you do just recreate it.

You can try in systemadmin side to go to system setup general settings and check to to renew templates from templates directory. This will force to rebuild templates.

Re: Cant use pictures when creating blocks

Well that should work. Hope those rows are there for a reason, because you have many with just a space in them.

Try deleting cache and template folder contents. What hapens when you do just simple. Just remove space in first img]
