I guess my question is slightly different.... I want all users to be automatically notified when someone comments on their submissions.

Is it possible to make it default for every user to be notified for comments on their submissions?

Of course the user should be able to check and uncheck the notify boxes at will just like it does now.

I feel that this would be very useful specifically in the weblog and xcgal modules.

xcgal does what you are looking for, but it is not exactly the easiest module to configure and setup. If you have a lot of patience, you can get it to work nicely.

If you look at the gallery on my site, you will find that I hacked alot of the code to get it to look and run like I wanted.

Looking at the link that wheeler posted, it totally seems feesible. I just don't feel quite comfortable enough to do this alone. Anyone else want to help? I think this would be an awesome hack that people would utilize. Look how successful MySpace is. Think about it.

Thank you, but the profiles module has a lot of potential but its not really what I am looking for. I just want to add a simple guestbook or a comment system to the default XOOPS profile page.

Are you sure that the module permissions in the admin section have been set for the user?? I have xcgal up and running on my site just fine.

However if you don't need each user to have their own gallery, there are other very basic galleries available.

After many problems with several different hosts, surpass has been our savior. We are running a fast growing XOOPS site with a lot of music downloads with NO problems.

We have been with surpass for about 3 months. I give them 2 thumbs up for their support and reliability.

yeah... its not a bad module. Its just a little weird the way the users have to switch between user mode and admin mode. (But I forced users to always be in admin mode and took away the link that switches you back and forth)

I also despise the fact users can only upload one photo at a time. But I have been poking around on the coppermine site and it looks like they really do plan to realease a version of coppermine that will integrate into to xoops. That means there will be support again!!

I look forward to seeing it come about. Now in the meantime if I could just get the "submitted by" line to show the gallery owner instead. That would make me happy.
