Hello jdseymour,

btw i was browsing your site and firstly i have to say it is neat and organise. However, you might have forgotten to edit the "Remember Me" hack cause it shows as "_REMEMBER" under the login box. might wanna check that out.

Hi guys,

i did a search on the forum and found out from a thread that Big Story = Most Read Article of the day and that Top News = Most Recent News. if so, then what is the "Recent News" block for in News v1.21?

many thanks in advance.

Hello guys,

when i tried to install news v1.21 by overwriting the contents of the folder news, i get this error:
"Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!"

after that i reinstalling the default News v1.1 and everything was fine again. then i deleted the whole folder and refreshed the module administration page and i got the same error!

The site makes me feel as though the News v1.1 module is in use and cannot be removed although this module is not installed!

Can someone point me in the right direction as to what i should do to solve this problem? I really need to install news v1.21 in my site A.S.A.P. i have already deleted all the tables associated with the module in MySQL and also have made sure that it is /modules/news/<content>

any help is GREATLY appreciated. thnx!!!

ok guys i did a more thorough search through the forums and stuff and found my answer! lol. it's hacking the template for the blocks and also news_top.php.

if anyone wants to know the solution do a search for "Show news on top page"

thanks for all the views/help

hello there, i have tried your method and adding "Recent News" block to my top page but it only shows the title. When i click edit there is only an option to limit the number of characters of the title and no option to show "the scoop".

i really hope i can use news v1.21 for its simplicity and i'll use it if it can also show summary.

many thanks in advanced.

I have tried that but the news appear on the top page as titles and not the title with summary and a small image next to it. Is that what you mean? If it can really display title + image + summary i will go back to using news v1.21.

If your host is using CPanel, it is very simple. Just contact the provider and ask them to install the rpm NETPBM and this can be done easily under CPanel. Once it is installed, set the path to /usr/bin/ and you're all set to go!

Click on "Check Conf/Env" if you're using MyAlbumP and see if NetPBM is detected properly.

Lastly i recommend NetPBM for its ease of installation as well as sharp pictures. I have not used ImageMagik so i cannot comment on that.

Hope this helps!
