Have anybody successfully installed any gallery/album module in a shared hosting environment. I am using Lunarpages and they have disable_functions set on their php.ini. It seems that xoopsgallery will not work if that is turned on.

Does anybody at least know of any other gallery alternatives that may work with disable_functions? Or, do you know how to override disable_functions. Please help.

I finally solved this problem. After looking through all the forums, I ran across a similar problem. The problem was caused by extra spaces after the <?php and ?> tags in mainfile.php. Just in case anybody's interested, the post is here.

Herko, do you have a solution for his question number 2 above? I have the same problem. PHP debug, gives me the following message:

Warning [PHP]: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/myfolder/public_html/mainfile.php:80) in file index.php line 39

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED. Caused by extra spaces in mainfile.php

I reloaded index.php but the error is still there. It doesn't really matter which module I set as the start module it gives the same error. Any more ideas anybody?

"myfolder" of course is not the real name of my folder. I did not change index.php in the root directory. You probably cannot look at the website yet since dns isn't fully propagated. To set XOOPS up, I cheated by using a host file on my computer. Just in case you can already, the website is at www.taerzone.net. Any more ideas?

I turned on PHP debug and I get the following message:

Quote:

Have anybody seen this before.

Somebody please help me with this problem:

I installed XOOPS before on an intranet site and it worked fine. Now, I am installing it on a hosted server (Lunarpages). During installation, I chmod the 3 folders (cache, template_c, upload) to 666 and mainfile to 777 as specified. However, after installation, I only get a blank page when I visit the site. So, I changed the 666 permissions to 777 for the 3 folders. Now the top page loads up fine.

Now, I installed the news module and by itself it works fine. But if I put it as the starting module, I get the blank page on top page again. Does anybody know how to fix this. Maybe I need to chmod some folder to 777 again. What folder? I really need to set news as starting module.

I tried the patch that was suggested at the link that you mentioned. Now, various modules can be browsed. However, administration of those modules (as well as system administration) still does not work. In the case of the modules, whenever you click on their respective icons on the left in administration page, it says Selected module does not exist. For system administration, it does not save any changes you make.

Hopefully someone out there knows what's going on. I want to fix this before I decide whether to publish my site publicly.

I have read all over this forum that in order to move a XOOPS website successfully from localhost to somewhere else, you need to edit mainfile.php. So, that's why I did...I edited the line

define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://localhost');

to

define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://somename');

Now, when I try to browse tohttp://somename from a computer different from the webserver, the front page loads properly, however I cannot access any of the modules. It says This module does not exist or something like that. Have any of you experienced this and know how to fix this? I'd hate to see XOOPS having problems with multiple domains and/or IPs.
