I discovered when i enter:

ini_set("memory_limit","30M");

in a XOOPS php file that the page will be shown. I have no access to the server, so i cannot edit the PHP config files. And i dont think its a good idea to add this line (ini_set("memory_limit","30M");) to all of the php files in xoops.......

I also think there must something be wrong, because of that high memory usage. I have about 230 users, so that is not a problem i guess. But WHAT can be the cause of this problem?

Maybe there are some things that i can check?

Hello,

Suddenly (I dont know the cause) my XOOPS 2.0.7.x site doesnt show anything :( Only a white page appears. I even cant get into the admin.

I have manually in the database with phpmyadmin set the debugmode on, and then it shows:

Quote:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 2097152 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 11520 bytes) in /www/www.[sitename].nl/ftp/incoming/htdocs/cms/class/smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 134

Warning [PHP]: First argument to array_keys() should be an array in file include/common.php line 259
Warning [PHP]: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in file include/common.php line 259

I dont have any idea where to start to find out how to solve it. Can anyone help me please??

Hello,

When I edit a news article all users (who have notifications enabled) get an e-mail that there is a new news article.... I want to disable this, because when I edit one letter or one word in an article I think it's not necessary to e-mail all the users...

Anyone knows how to disable this?

Hello,

When I send a e-mail with my XOOPS site to users it goes very slow. Sending one e-mail takes about 5 seconds, but mails with over 10 receipiants goes much slower.... (couple of minutes).

My hosting provider says there is a spam check at the outgoing mails. But is this normal that sending mails goes such terrible slow? Is it my provider or maybe something in Xoops/PHP?

I'm using the mail method php mail(). Sendmail doesnt work and i dont know another smtp server which i can use.

Do other XOOPS webmaster also have problems with slow mail?

Hello,

By default, XOOPS checks if an e-mail adress is already in use when someone registers himself. I want to disable this, so different users can register an acount each with the same e-mailadress.

Is this possible?

Are there some standard things I can check? Module caching is already turned off.

but it seems like there's nothing loaded from an external source... no RSS feeds or images etc. And the situation is that it delays the first time on _any_ computer. When you open the site then on another computer on another location the site loads very quickly the first time (no delay then). The delay only appears when the page is for first time requested from the server in 5-10 minutes. So I don't think it has to do with caching things locally.

I'm using the following modules:

- news
- articles
- tinyevent
- 2 duplicatable tinycontents
- my album P
- myguestbook
- mylinks
- xoopsfaq
- xoopsmembers
- xoopspartners

also banners turned on and sessions to stay logged in.

Hi, i have a strange problem. I'm now testing my XOOPS site, so no one else is visiting it.

When I visit my site the first time, it takes about 5 seconds before the first page is shown in my browser (opening page... in status bar of browser). A kind of lag. After that delay everything runs fine and the site is very fast. Also when I visit my page again within a couple of minutes it appears very quickly in my browser. Also on other computers it's working good. But... when I wait for a time (i.e. 15 minutes) and visit my site again I have that delay of 5 seconds before the first page appears.

In short: when people visiting the site it's going fast for everyone. But if no one is visiting it, the first page opens with a delay.

ain't there a piece of 'standard' code or something I can use for this purpose?

i.e. something like: "if (user != registered) {exit;}" which I can add above the code of 'tiny event' submit.php ?

Hello,

By default everyone can submit events with this module (tinyevent), but I don't want anonymous users to do this. Is there a way to block this function for these users? I only want registered and admin users to add events.

I can't find it in the admin panel, so maybe I have to hack something in the code?
