I'm not sure exactly what you mean...

Do you mean ad a link from the XOOPS main menu to your forums?

If so in your system admin/groups be sure you have set the permissions.

Or do you mean you are using phpbb by its self and you would like to ad a link to that main menu?

If so you must edit and ad your link to the templates/YourTemplate/overall_header.tpl

Catscity,

Did you follow the install file?

If your links are not showing up then you likely have not replaced the header.php.

Take the header.php that came with the bundle and drop it in your main site directory (Same area as mainfle.php is located) replace the old header.php with the one you recieved with the bundle.

If you have any other trouble/questions please post @T-Tech forums so that I may help you further, as I only stop in here a few times a day.

Please let me know if my suggestion fixes the problem.

Thanks, Danni :)

The reason you are having a problem below the header is because your logo image is too large and it is messing with the rest of your layout. If you make the logo smaller, the rest of the layout should fall nicely in to place.

If your header table is 1000px wide
and the rest of your layout is only 800px wide
As you can see you will have an error of 200px

Best way to be sure this dosent happen is to use % rather then set px amounts.

Put everything in a table, and tables within thoes. Now rather then say the header table width='960' say table width='100%'. This also wil solve any issues that may resault from users having different resolution settings.

This is your logo image incoded as you have it now:

<body>
<
table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="bg">
<
tr><td>

<
table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="bg1" border="0" >
<
tr><td class="header" width=249 hight=59><td>
<
td align="center" ><a href="http://marabou94.free.fr/"><img src="http://marabou94.free.fr/themes/compucine/images/logo.jpg" width="1020" height="200" ></a>
</
td>
<
td class="banner"></td>
</
tr></table><br>
</
td>
</
tr>
<
tr>
<
td>

I would suggestion changing it to the following:

<body>
<
table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="bg">
<
tr><td>

<
table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="bg1" border="0" >
<
tr><td class="header" width=249 hight=59><td>
<
td align="center" ><a href="http://marabou94.free.fr/"><img src="http://marabou94.free.fr/themes/compucine/images/logo.jpg" width="510" height="100" ></a>
</
td>
<
td class="banner"></td>
</
tr></table><br>
</
td>
</
tr>
<
tr>
<
td>

Once you resize the oversized logo image the rest of your layout should fall in to order.

Hope this helps :)

Debates ... I love them!

The way I see this is pretty simple.

You either support the XOOPS project or you don't.
If you do and you have a REQUEST or perhaps a SUGGESTION on how to improve an XOOPS module in YOUR opinion, then I think thats great :)

Now, if you are on the flip side of this and would rather use a non XOOPS system/module, then do so. I really feel it is somewhat insulting to suggest intergrading such a thing when XOOPS has been built and prided on originality!

Xoops is such a strong system with a really devoted team behind it all, who would love nothing more then to hear suggestions on how things can be made better for the community. Simply put ask and you shall receive, but please don't underestimate this team by not even having the respect to suggest an upgrade or modification before assuming "Why bother just intergrade this".

Ahem ... and thats my two cents ... well maybe that was about 10 :)

Thanks, Danni :)

This is really kool and should prove useful to both site admins as well as theme designers like myself :)

What it is, is a theme control consol. Allowing the site admin(s) to have more control over each theme.

In the consol the admin can define different variables such as:

- 10 different links and link text for each,
- Site name display,
- Site slogan,
- 2 Custom lines of scrolling text'

Now the designer may utilize these variables and include them within the theme.html like so for an example:
<h1><{$show_sitename}> - <{$show_siteslogan}></h1>

I think this is a kool idea myself, and I know im going to be using this for all my future theme designs. Not every site has the same modules installed, and also perhaps the admin(s) may want to have an external link implimented within the header.

This project is not ready for release just yet, but will be as soon as it is done being debugged.

For a sneek peek of the admin consol click HERE.

I would really love to hear some comments and feedback in regards to this project :)

Thanks, Danni :)
