Well, I just tried going via admin/users/find users, found a user, clicked edit profile, and was able to successfully change the email address that user there too.

I am not sure what the difference in behavior could be due to.

I also don't see this problem. I can change email address via the admin/modules/extended profiles/users menu.

You can do that with the Content module. Look at www.aka.org/aka, which is a rebuild of my live site using 2.2.4. I also took the opportunity to change some of the modules I'm using for content. Instead of multiple installations of tinycontent, I now use one installation of Content. I hide the system Main Menu and rename the Site Content menu of the Content module to Main Menu. Content allows you to order the menu items as you want and to add submenus as you indicated. If you click on General Content on that site you see the submenus. There are also submenus to the Member Content menu but you won't be able to see those. They are visible only to members (obviously enough). Their visibility is controled by a hack we have added to Content allowing menu level permissions. The programming of that was dne by a friend of mine.

Why does she want to use those services in particular? Why not Paypal? It is cheaper than most credit card processing services and buyers can use either a Paypal account or pay directly by credit card. The funds in the account can be transferred to the owner's bank acct. at any time. For a single product, this would seem the simplest solution to me.

That might do the trick. I'll take a look at it. And, yes, the problem is that if I use the XOOPS admin send email I generate 1000 emails. It sends them 100 at a time, and I could wait for some time before sending the next batch, but that is a pain. Automated throttling is what I need and it seems to be in Xmail. As so many users are on shared servers I think it would be a nice feature to build into XOOPS in the future.

Thanks,

I couldn't find an item related to this in a search, so here goes.

Occasionally I need to send out an email to all individuals in our "member' group, which is about 1000 people. My hosting co. is not willing to raise the outgoing emails/hour above 500, so I run into a problem where a lot of the messages don't get set. In some mail programs there is a way to throttle outgoing messages such that the limit would not be exceeded. Is there a way to do this using php Mail in Xoops?

Thanks,

I am using the fiblue3d theme, with colors slightly modified, on a site running XOOPS 2.2.4. I have noticed that the notifications block for various modules shows up in full. That is, notifications are not collapsible/expandable. I know this is theme-related, because when I try the default theme, it behaves correctly. Could anyone point me to the appropriate area of the theme, or explain what is needed in the theme to allow this to function correctly?

Thanks,

Can't help you I'm afraid, but I have had exactly the same experience. I set up Donations on my live site and got exactly what you have - failure of the post back to my server from Paypal. Set it up on a test site - worked. Set it up on a rebuild of my 2.0.13 site under 2.2.3 and it didn't work. I have never been able to figure out what the problem is, and there have been tons of posts discussing similar problems. Just no solutions.

I'm not sure how all shared hosting companies do it, but at least some (mine for example) do allow you to see the php.ini file. It is at the root level of the server (/public-html/). I can't edit this file as it acts globally, but if I want to make changes to it, I can put a copy in every folder that holds one or more php files and edit those (quite a task on a large XOOPS site).

This is a little confusing in 2.2.3. You need to use this path to edit: admin/modules/profiles/users. Then find the user and add him/her. Then click edit. There you will see the drop down referred to above for moderator/webmaster.
