Just make sure your mainfile.php is set to read only like it tells you when you do the install of XOOPS for the first time. You should be ok .. if there is a major flaw be sure to let us all know .

problem solved found out it was broswer issues so if anyone else has this problem check your internet exploror settings.

site admin is stagnating

Hello everyone

I have a problem that has just risen today and its really getting on my nerves i cant seem to find anyway of fixing it. I have tried deleating templates_c and other simple things but its not solving my isssue.

Ok this is my problem.

I login in to my site then i click on administration to go into my XOOPS admin then it throws this message at me:

This is your first time to enter the administration section. Press the button below to proceed.

i think click the submit button and the pages says loggin you in then guess what comes up again :

and i click submit and then guess what comes up again:

This is your first time to enter the administration section. Press the button below to proceed.

and so on it is stagnating and i can not get into my admin.

please help

Yes it is possible ive done it .

For the defult XOOPS banner you can upload any size and it will show ... for the second banner in a module this can be done with a ranom html in the block or you can put in the XOOPS banner code and do a little bit of editing and you will have two sections of banners that you can upload and edit in your admin under banners.

well done that's it in a nutshell.. but remmber that an IP ban is hardly effective these day's for example my real IP is masked constantly with another IP .... not only that but dial up connections are so hard to get the user perm banned.

but you got it :o) great that banned group and do that or if your really sneaky you can just go into the users account and change there email address and password that way they can not log in and use your site .. but then they will most likely create another user account again but then they need to create an email account ;O they will get tired of it sooner or later just keep deleating there accounts and restricting there email accounts and access to your site............... good luck

Ive allways said that this is a problem im glad people are starting to realize it more for its not an error in the actual xoops. Below is a diagram i recommend you stick up in your sites FAQ so people can solve this problem if there running norton internet security.

There are absolute heaps of sites with XOOPS themes. One of my favourites is www.themecentral.com there are also heaps listed in the weblinks section here on xoops.org you can view some sites to visit by clicking HERE hope that this helps .
