Thanks Stephan & Brash ...

I couldn't find anything regarding obsclassroom ... either here or with google.

I have my friend checking out the Moodle site to see if it will work for her. If needs be ... she can have XOOPS on her main site and a different site for her classes

I checked out Mith's project ... but that doesn't sound like what I remember seeing.

I thought I had seen the module here ... but ... maybe it was just the Moodle site I saw. It sure looks familiar

Thanks for your help ... whats left of my sanity is saved
Peter

I am driving myself nuts ... hope someone can save my sanity.

I thought I remembered seeing a Module available so someone could offer online courses ... I guess a sort of teaching module.

I have hunted the Module Repository ... done site searches in every conceivable combination of relative terms I could think of. But I keep coming up empty.

Does anyone know of the module I mean? Or is my memory totally faulty?

Thanks for any and all input and/or assistance

Peter

Hi cplus ....

My problem .... I am at 2.2 (the original 2.2 download)needing to go to 2.2.2 ... there is not a direct patch that I can do this in one step yet.

Your problem ... (if I am understanding correctly) .... you are at 2.2.1 needing to go to 2.2.2 .... you can download and install the patch that is already posted called "2.2.1 to 2.2.2 Uprgrade Patch" ... no problem.

Sorry ... I did not mean to imply you were not making sense ... just not making sense to me. I am disabled and have a cognitive dysfunction ... so its real easy for me to become confused. Confused to the point that my brain will literally "shut down". So, I was reading your posts ... my brain would start flashing "TILT TILT TILT" ... and I would go on to the next post real quick

But that is sort of off topic ... again ... sorry.

The long & short of it is ... IF your installation version is at 2.2.1 .... then go ahead and use the patch posted. The patch will fix some of the problems you may be encountering.

Good luck
Peter

Cplus ... don't worry about being confused. Your responses to my post have been confusing me since the get go hahahahaha.

From what you said in your first response ... you are already upgraded to 2.2.1. Correct???

Then all you have to do is apply the "2.2.1 to 2.2.2 Upgrade Patch" and you are all set. You do not have to wait for anything

I think you just confused yourself by assuming my post had anything to do with your reponse ... it didn't. To insure I did not become any more confused than I already was ... I basically just ignored your responses. And Mithrandir's responses mainly addressed what my post was about.

Mith did say to you "We have made the 2.2.1->2.2.2 patch for exactly the purpose of upgrading from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2, ..."

IF you are already at 2.2.1 .... they've already posted the upgrade patch to 2.2.2 ... they are not working on any other upgrade currently that would apply to you or your XOOPS installation.

Good Luck
Peter

Hi Mithrandir ... thanks for the response.

Unfortunately yes ... I do have some hacks installed that required the modification of a few files. Which is why I guess I am finding the upgrade to 2.2.1 more than slightly confusing

So ... is the 2.2 --> 2.2.2 upgrade patch something that will definitely be coming???

If so ... then I can wait Thankfully the site I upgraded to 2.2 is sort of a private site only accessible by 8 people. So I am not too worried right now about security breaches ... not if a direct patch is going to be coming.

But if the "unforeseen problems" are going to negate the possibility of a direct patch ... then I guess I will have to find some help some where to help me figure the upgrade to 2.2.1 out

Hi ....

Will there be a 2.2 to 2.2.2 Upgrade patch made available???

One of my sites I upgraded from 2.0.13 to 2.2 a couple weeks ago. I foolishly did so before remembering to do a full site backup (yeah ... I know ... I am an idiot).

Anyway, with a few glitches it went OK. Then 2.2.1 came out. I have a couple brain dysfunctions ... and for some reason I just cannot get my head wrapped around how I am supposed to accomplish the upgrade.

Now ... 2.2.2 upgrade comes out ... but only if I have 2.2.1 already installed.

Thanks for any suggestions or assistance or input.

Peter

PS ... or can the patch labelled as 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 Upgrade be used to successfully upgrade a 2.2 installation. I think I just may have seen something that insinuates it can be.

If you are experiencing problems with the Autologin ... I suggest you post about it on GIJOE's site.

None of my members have mentioned a problem using it ... yet.

I can understand a little bit of frustration I've been there too.

You are right in that this is a community and as a community we should be able to band together and maybe get a list or lists set up.

Myself ... I keep saying I am "sort of a newbie" ... but I guess I've graduated into more of an "unskilled Xoopster". I have no knowledge of MySQL or PHP ... otherwise I would attempt to "whip up something" where people could input their experience with various modules ... if they work perfectly, if they work but with a few problems, or if they don't work at all ... what platform they are using etc etc etc. And also a field where it can be checked off or it would appear on a different list when the module developer issues a new release for 2.2 or whatever.

I have webspace that I would gladly host such a site on ... but I have no skill or knowledge to develop such a site.

So ... anyone with the skills want to collaborate???

Peter
