I'm getting this error message when users try to attach image files to posts.

cbb version 4 (the new one with captcha integrated)

i've checked preferences and the width should be ok, the forum accepts image attachements.

my forum shows:-

Xoops Poll Module: Available
ImageMagicK: Not available
NetPBM: Not available
GD1 library: Not available
GD2 library: Autodetected: bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
Path for attachment storing: [edited...]/htdocs/uploads/newbb/ ( Available )
Path for attached image thumbs: [edited...]/user/htdocs/uploads/newbb/thumbs/ ( Available )

why would this not be working?

WF-Section redirects and... AAAH!

I've been happliy still using 2.0.14 and wf-section for some time and then breaking my own rule i fixed something that wasn't broke ie. upgraded to 2.0.18.

Somehow wf-section stopped working and was just showing blank pages for content like this:-

www.colournation.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=15

to solve the problem I upgraded to smartsections and went through my site hand coding all those fixed links I'd done.

My next problem is that there are many links out there to these old urls/strings which i would like to redirect to their new homes in smartsection - is there anyway to do this?

My ISP says no.

I would be happy with either a redirect of the individual page or of any calls to module/wfsection/.

any ideas?

thanks

Andrew

is it possible for two XOOPS installs to share the same db?

So I'll install php on two different domains but they share the same db?

thanks

Hi there,

My google listings have dropped drastically for the home page of my XOOPS site. It's been suggested that this could be because my .htaccess file is missing (I don't know how it got lost).

How do I get a new one?

Someone suggested downloading a full version of XOOPS and taking the .htaccess file from there - but there isn't one in 1.0.18

How else could I get a working .htaccess file?

Thanks

Andrew

Re: XOOPS SEO: Joomla sh404SEF module

tried posting this to the xoop3 requirements but it wouldn't post.

I believe that the only way to achieve max seo exposure is to rewrite the url in an seo friendly way.
For example:-http://www.colournation.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=2412&forum=5&post_id=7231#forumpost7231& (a real poost on my XOOPS site)
Should be rewritten:-http://www.colournation.com/modules/newbb/hairstraightening/Permanent_hair_straightening_tips.html or similar.
[It's been further suggested that 'modules' should not appear in future XOOPS url's and that the module name should reflect what the module has been called within XOOPS admin, so for example 'newbb' might become 'forum' a much more useful name, then the url might look like:-http://www.colournation.com/forum/hairstraightening/Permanent_hair_straightening_tips.html ]
**Traffic is fundimental to the sucess of any site and unless we sort this out XOOPS may be in trouble.
I've been looking at Joomla! recently (I know, I know, it terrible) and the sh404SEF module in particular found here:-
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option|**http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2380/Itemid,35/|http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option**,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2380/Itemid,35/ (not a great url in itself - and not necessariliy the best seo/url rewrite odule just the one I tried that worked)
And this module appears to do everything I want XOOPS to do.
For example:-http://londonhairdressers.co.uk/index.php/Latest/London-Hairdressers.html
orhttp://londonhairdressers.co.uk/index.php/London-Hairdressers-News/London-Hairdressers.html
Are both live urls generated by the module and Joomla! - The advantage to all XOOPS installations must be clear...

I've been searching for a decent SEO module or hack for XOOPS for quite a while.

I believe that the only way to achieve max seo exposure is to rewrite the url in an seo friendly way.

For example:-

http://www.colournation.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=2412&forum=5&post_id=7231#forumpost7231&

(a real poost on my XOOPS site)

Should be rewritten:-
http://www.colournation.com/modules/newbb/hairstraightening/Permanent_hair_straightening_tips.html

or similar.

Traffic is fundimental to the sucess of any site and unless we sort this out XOOPS may be in trouble.

I'v been looking at Joomla! recently (I know, I know, it terrible) and the sh404SEF module in particular found here:-

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2380/Itemid,35/
(not a great url in itself)

And this module appears to do everything I want XOOPS to do.

For example:-
http://londonhairdressers.co.uk/index.php/Latest/London-Hairdressers.html
or

http://londonhairdressers.co.uk/index.php/London-Hairdressers-News/London-Hairdressers.html

Is there anyway, any module I've missed which will allow XOOPS to do this?

thanks

Does anyone know if / can anyone create a hack of the myalbum-p random picture module block which in addition to being able to limit by category of pictures shown also limits by the rating a picture has been given.

For example I want to show pics in the block from category 'a' and 'b' but only if they have a user rating of 4+

Any suggestions?

thanks

Andrew
