Hi there,

My google listings have dropped drastically for the home page of my XOOPS site. It's been suggested that this could be because my .htaccess file is missing (I don't know how it got lost).

How do I get a new one?

Someone suggested downloading a full version of XOOPS and taking the .htaccess file from there - but there isn't one in 1.0.18

How else could I get a working .htaccess file?

Thanks

Andrew

Re: htaccess lost

Unless your doing ModRewrites you shouldn't need anything more than a blank .htaccess file..

You may need a sitemap however this help google find stuff and restructure your listings..

Seee backend.php is good but what about a sitemap.php?

as well as the other SEO Tips in my userprofile forum posts there is 1 - 4, I would say those pages have been considered spam or old..
