Team Leader: KC0MAZ
Team members // status
KC0MAZ // Active
Sailjapan // Active
JAVesey // Active
Northern // Resigned

With the resignation of Northern the Community Coordinators are evaluating [name withheld] as a candidate of for one of the open positions. A second person has yet to be identified.

SailJapan is just about to wrap up the discussion on the new forum structure. After several off topic comments, the community provided some good input. Project Council member [name withheld] is using the information to finalize the forum structure, on the new Xoops.org web site

KC0MAZ worked with several community members to restore their web sites after the Turk Hack Team attempted to defaced many XOOPS based web sites.

The request to ban user [name withheld] is almost completed the final proposal is awaiting the project council approval. Request this issue be expedited as several community members are becoming frustrated with the situation.

The issue regarding [name withheld] is unclear at this time. He is claiming a lawsuit has been file, however to the best of my knowledge a complaint has not been received by the XOOPS Foundation. What is known is [name withheld] has file a complaint against [name withheld], and he has not answered. XOOPS is not named in that suit. Request that once XOOPS is named, that all communications with [name withheld] regarding the lawsuit be moved to holding, for review by the legal department.

Several double posts have been removed, as well as several posts have been edited for language 'work-a-rounds'

Spammer attacks have been quite limited during the month of August.

KC0MAZ has accepted a non-voting position on the Project Council.

The Vision and Mission Statement for the entire XOOPS Project is ongoing.

When people evaluating XOOPS realise that to get support they have to consider carefully which website to go to, I doubt if XOOPS will gain any new users at all. If a module gives a blank page, how is a user to know if that's an issue for xoops.org or xoopsinfo.com?.

That is what the Community Coordinators is here for.

If someone comes to Xoops.org with a module issue, We collect try to collect the information the developer needs and present it to Xoopsinfo, Then inform the end-user that their problem is being handled at Xoopsinfo. It might not be a bad idea to give them the name of whoever is taking control of that issue.

We have to do much more than just say "This is the wrong place , go 'here' and try it" Some of people need to be lead by the hand, if that is what it takes, then that is what we will do.

I would take a look at the theme files.

I see the problem in IE 7
I do not have the problem in Firefox, Mozilla, or Konqueror.

I have put my comment here as this is somewhat related

In Response to Madfish comment here.
Quote:

I would like to propose that a formal mechanism be developed by which community members can submit proposals to improve xoops.org, have them passed onto the relevant teams / decision maker / council, and reviewed.

aye, this is a great idea.

I would like to couple this with SailJapan's idea of a ticket system. and Dave_L idea of suggestion (rather than complaint) forum When a suggested is submitted, the person gets a ID number to reference back to.

The Community Coordinators, can then combine suggestion ID numbers of similar nature and submit them all to the responsible group for action or dismissal.

This takes care of two things I see missing here,
One is feedback, you should know where your suggestion is at, or what action is being taken
Second is giving credit where credit is due. If John submits an idea that helps the community, then we should acknowledge him in someway.

There is a pitfall The Community Coordinators in some cases is a little more than a conduit, While we can pass suggestions on to the council, the foundation, a team, or a person, we can't force them to take action or even read it. Some ideas require also require a bit of research and/or discussion before an answer can be reached.

As the forum structure goes, does it really matter who got paid for what? Not really.

Xoops.org is the project site.
Xoopsinfo.com is the Community Site.

both sites are own by the XOOPS foundation.

dmaster, vaughan, marco, hervet and anyone else thinking about posting an off-topic message -- The discussion about who paid who how much for what services ends here.

If you want to discuss it further, start another topic.

Now back to our topic of the 'new and improved' forum structure. Are there any other comments or questions?

Im using XOOPS 2.0.16. Now I need some help. It is possible to login, with my admin password, on my site. But after login there is no admin menu. How can I solve this problem?

Wiljo

That's not good.

After logging in with your admin username / password
Gotohttp://<yousite>/admin.php That should get you in to the admin part.

the work was done on XI. it's ready to go. that was the original plan that was agreed to. now apparently it's changed again.

xoops.org was only going to have XOOPS core discussion forums, no community discussion forums, they were meant to be at XI.

That is correct. Community discussions will take place on XI for things like theme and module development and review.

Simply put anything that says community support sites you can put Xoopsinfo.

Check the Cache folder.

I found three files that look like they did not belong there. I renamed the files and I am back in business.

The file names were:

piCal_minical_cache_english.php
CVCC-bluehue^%0B^0B9^0B9E10B9%db%3Asystem_rss.html
xlanguage.php

I believe the one with the Theme name is the problem.

Oh, it was done by the "TurkHackTeam"...

I found these three in the "uploads" folder.

What did they do?

The TurkHackTeam... That wasn't very nice of them now was it.
