What i needed though is a portal where different users are in charge of their own news section, so not everyone can post news in all sections (different mod for each news section). Is this possible, if not can you think of any solutions that do have this feature?

Hi Guys..
On news 1.3 i can set news to be edited/posted by unregistered/registered and admin.
I want it so you can set individual users to edit their own news category. So user1 can edit/post news in section1, and user2 can edit/post news in section2.
Is there any way I can do this?

News 1.3 almost does what I want it to. The trouble is I need it so that user1 can post/modify news in section1, user2 can post/modify news in section2.
So basically each news section has a separate administrator...
make sense?

Hi guys,
Quite new to xoops, got some help yesterday and am really enjoying setting it up.
I need to be able to have a separate admin person for separate news topics, for example 1 person and one person only can edit (sports news) another person can edit (main news) etc..
Also how do you make the news intro text appear on the main page and not just news title..

Just wondering if anyone knows of an module where you can list advertisers and each advertiser can have their own page with info about them.

Has anyone got any examples of community sites already created with xoops. Or just a demo of some of the features it has to offer, I cant find a demo site anywhere, the only one I can find needs a password..

Hi I am new to the XOOPS world, and am thinking of setting up a cms for my local town. I would like to know if XOOPS can do the following,
- News updated by administrators
- Alphabetical lists e.g Dentists/Doctors/ and local shops, which link to further details?
