Install Failed

I did a search on my issues before posting this, and either I didn't search correctly, or there's no information directly associated with this.

I am running PHP 5, MySQL 5 and Apache 2.x on Windows XP. (Intranet purpose).

I can't get the XOOPS installation to complete. I'm using phpmyadmin and it looks like the database was created, but if I leave it blank to create its own, it doesn't work and it prompts me to enter a database name. Here's the results if I use the database name that I entered using phpmyadmin:

File ../mainfile.php overwritten by ../mainfile.dist.php.
Failed writing constant C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs.
Failed writing constanthttp://localhost.
Failed writing constant mysql.
Failed writing constant xoops.
Failed writing constant localhost.
Failed writing constant root.
Failed writing constant *xpasswordhiddenx.
Failed writing constant xoops.
Failed writing constant 0.
Failed writing constant 1.
Failed writing constant 2.
Failed writing constant 3.
Failed writing constant 1.

* - edited to remove my password, since I do like to keep those things private. ;)

Things look alright to me, but this is having issues for some reason... anyone care to take a stab at it? I'm local to the system, so I can edit anything and everything.

Re: Blocks, pages and such

Rock...on. Thanks so much. That part of the manual eluded me for so long. LOL.

Thanks!

Blocks, pages and such

I did a search on this, but either my verbage sucks or there's too many ways to answer this question...

I'm trying to get a block (custom) to show up on both anonymous as well as registered users. If I create the block in Anonymous, it shows up under Registered, and if you visit the site not logged in, you can't see it. But as soon as you login, you can see two instances of the same block (because one was created for Registered, and the other for anonymous).

What am I doing wrong? I'm using the latest XOOPS build (at least, I think so - it's 2.0.13)

Re: OpenGeek Theme Issue

Yeah, that was it. I set the site up last almost 9 months ago, so I totally forgot about that setting. It worked. Thanks a million. :)

You know, that sounds familiar... I'll do that and post when I'm done.

Re: OpenGeek Theme Issue

Unfortunately that's not it. I wouldn't normally do this, but if someone wants to take a peek and see what I mean, add a .net to my username here and you've got my site. Thanks though for the idea. :)

OpenGeek Theme Issue

I got my site back online and I am using Opengeek, but the banner position at the top left side has a URL that no longer functions and I want it outta there. I've tried changing the theme.html file, but that doesn't do anything for me, and I've looked in the site preferences and under the CSS files. I can't seem to find out where the old URL is hiding out at. I have my site set to go to the News module by default.

Re: Missing Module

GDI, Firefox wasn't showing me the updated version of the page... so I missed this question: (My sincerest apologies to everyone)

"If you FTP to your site, do you see the System module in the modules directory?"

Yes, the System Module is in the Modules Directory. The format is as follows:

4096 Jun 17 19:21 .
4096 Feb 15 23:30 ..
4096 Jun 19 18:16 admin
6579 Jun 17 19:21 admin.php
4096 Jun 19 18:16 blocks
2538 Jun 17 19:21 constants.php
4096 Feb 15 23:30 images
33 Jan 2 2003 index.html
4096 Feb 15 23:30 language
3709 Jun 17 19:21 menu.php
3686 Mar 5 2003 style.css
4096 Jun 17 19:16 templates
9390 Jun 17 19:21 xoops_version.php

Does that help any?

Re: Missing Module

I'm not going to argue about it anymore. I did exactly what I was told to do, and it didn't work. I logged into my site, and went to that URL. The page displayed that the module doesn't exist and I'm stuck at ground zero.

What is difficult about that? Honestly... I'm missing the reason why that's hard to comprehend...
