Anyone have any suggestions on what module I could use to generate random news stories from the NEWS module or NEW2 clone module?

Thanks
James

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34

I can't get on to it and I didn't do anything before this happened.

What could be the problem.

What module would you recommend for cataloging and allowing play back of Mp3's and Wav files?

Thanks

I have found the News Module in XOOPS V2 is great except for one thing. It would be perfect for my purposes if you could assign user groups permissions to edit and delete there own work. It seems that this must have been an oversight as if the developer had been involved in posting articles they would know that once it is posted you generally find after reading it you would like to change something. Well you can't in this module and that sucks.

Is there any chance I could have someone add this feature to my site module? I am willing to pay someone to do it.

The comments system is a core implementation and not module-specific without hacking the commenting - which is possible with the comments API, but not recommended.

Changing the comments to be in a popup or with a "fast reply" as in newbb 2 sounds like a good idea, though.

I have been working with this module and am finding it excellent. One thing I would like to know...Is there anyway to have the comments posting area work either as a pop up like PM or at the bottom of the article. I find with it on a page of its own you can't easily look back at what your commenting on, this really isn't a good design for commenting. The pop up would be best as you can situate it over what your reading to make your comments.

Any thoughts of suggestions on a modification??

I cannot figure out a way to allow registered members (users) to edit and delete their own articles. Maybe I am blind but so far I have only been able to do it through the admin panel.
I really need help with this problem if someone could be so kind as to let me know how to do it.

I have installed the Sections Module and have noticed that the images that are suppose to appear on the articles main page are only showing up as X'd out boxes with the name of the section listed. I have checked all the images and they appear to be fine they just won't show up. Any suggestions on this one?

Thank for letting me know about soapbox. I installed 1.5 and I found that all the buttons and the submit section are really geared toward articles. I want the buttons to say submit poem (so there is no confusion) also I only need a title box fielf, and a main text body with the submit button, I don't need all the other article relate boxes. Do you know how to change those? I managed to change the menu items and the main menu title.
Let me know if you know someone who could help me with this. Thanks again
James
