Hi,

I have been trying to use the headlines modules to get news from other sources.

I have no idea what type of feed i should use..i tried using an xml feed
http://news.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_ uk_edition/front_page/rss091.xml

But on adding hat to the headline and when i click on the link i get nothing..it just stays in the same page..

Can some one help me please?

Thanks,
Ann

Hi ,

Is there a module for downloads where by the end users can just upload files to the server rather than provide "download url" for the downloads. And also i am trying to use WF-Downloads , but the display of the download section comes way down after the menu has been displayed..

How can i adjust this?

Should i create an ftp site to server all the uploaded files for download? When i try to download from the url
http://www.site.com/uploads/text1.doc , i get the following error:

Internet Explorer cannot download fromhttp://www.site.com/
Internet Explorer was unable to open this site.

Has any one come across the same problems?

Thanks
Ann

Hi ,

Is there a module for getting relevant news feeds from other sites on to my XOOPS website? I did search for it, and modules like RSSFit allows us to distribute the contents from our website to others right? Am i mistaken?

I want the other way round. Get some news from valid external newfeeds onto my site..

Any help will be appreciated..

Thanks,
Nisha

Hi,

Are there any links on how to migrate a XOOPS website and a database to another server under different name. I copied the website as such to the other machine. Exported the database as an sql file from MySQL database and created a new database and ran the sql file there which generated the database.

I changed the database name in mainfile.php

And i created a new website in iis pointing to the html directory of the XOOPS website folder

I still cannot access the site..Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ann

Hi,

I have been using tinycontent to create my home page.I have to give all the groups, moduleaccess for this tinycontent to view the home page. But as a result, there appears a link called "tinycontent" besides the "home" link to access the same contents. How can i remove the "tinycontent" link but yet give users access to view this page when they click the "Home" link?

Thanks,
Ann

Hi ,

I have 2 websites using XOOPS system. On one I have the SMTP mail setup using the ip address of our mailserver.

When i use the same set up on the new website i get the following error:

"You are now registered. However, we were unable to send the activation mail to your email account due to an internal error that had occurred on our server. We are sorry for the inconvenience, please send the webmaster an email notifying him/her of the situation."

I have tried PHPMail(). It never worked for me:(

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ann

Hi,

I am having a bit of a problem with uploading jpeg images using MyAlbum module. The jpg images are uploaded but it fails to make thumbnail images .The uploading process just hangs...I tried switching on the PHP debugger. This is what i get:
Notice [PHP]: Constant _ALBM_NEXT already defined in file C:\Program Files\campaigndemo2\html\modules\myalbum\language\english\main.php line 147
Notice [PHP]: Use of undefined constant move_uploaded_file - assumed 'move_uploaded_file' in file C:\Program Files\campaigndemo2\html\modules\myalbum\class\upload.class.php line 452
Notice [PHP]: Use of undefined constant move_uploaded_file - assumed 'move_uploaded_file' in file C:\Program Files\campaigndemo2\html\modules\myalbum\class\upload.class.php line 452
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: url in file C:\Program Files\campaigndemo2\html\modules\myalbum\submit.php line 85
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: email in file C:\Program Files\campaigndemo2\html\modules\myalbum\submit.php line 87

uploading gif images works fine though. While uploading jpg images i have made sure it is less than the maximum photo width and height in My Album General Settings.

Can some one please help me out?

Thanks,
Ann
