I'd like my users to not only have the ability to simply create their own page, but a fully functional blog web site, without the features already built into XOOPS such as a calender etc. A journal like module where users could update with their own entries as their life progresses.

It's only a fresh idea I have, and my mind is buzzing wild with ideas, though I'm sure if it was integrated, it'd be a winner.

At which point does your confusion begin?

- Registered Domain Name
- DNS Hosting provider
- Webserver accessable from the Internet
- Website content

We'll need more information to help you move on...

Is there a module available which will perform the following?

a) allow a registered XOOPS member of my site to activate and update their own blog style web site, preferabbly using a subdomain of my own domain, eg. myname.mysite.com

b) Publish the 10 most recent headlines from all blogs in a front page (or other page) block?

If not, I think it'd be a great idea.

There is a further problem with the code fix.

My ex-admin, who was granted Admin rights only to assist with maintenance of our FAQs, has now had their admin rights removed, however they are still able to see and successfully use the Administration Menu option, and also the FAQ module only in an Administrator capacity.

Seems the action to remove them from the Admin group has functioned correctly, however the actual user permissions remain, and they're now a 'registered user' with FAQ Admin capabilities.

This is a very common question - you're not alone

Perhaps an idea would be to replace the text 'Xoops 2.0.6' with 'Download XOOPS 2.0.6' to save further people asking

Your suggestion worked perfectly, thanks JackJ.

When members can't email each other (and sometimes members prefer it that way for privacy / less spam reasons), I find my memberbase is happy to use Personal Messages (Inbox) to reach out and communicate.

Agreed. To summarise what I think poehoes is saying, I also would appreciate having non-members seeing the number of members online, but not a link to the member user info without logging in.

Members can elect to hide their email address from public display poehoes under their profile. Hope this helps.

At my XOOPS site I use the default Who's Online block, however it only ever shows members who login, and never shows guests.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I may correct this thanks?
