Nothing came up unusual in phpmysqladmin or the php/blocks debug. Still blank screens. (none in admin)

Have replaced following tables with version that worked:

`xoops_config`
`xoops_configcategory`
`xoops_configoption`
`xoops_tplfile`
`xoops_tplset`
`xoops_tplsource`

any other tips that may help? Is there a crucial table that if it had an error, would create such a serious problem?

Thanks.
Ade

Quite suddenly, many modules only show a blank screen (C-jay content, XFsection, XOOPS headline, tiny content and probably more)

I cleared the cach and templates_c but that did not resolve the issue.

Also, the admin button for EvenNews for a period was not showing.

I also re-enables the update templates but that has not fixed it.

Would someone please kindy let me know what else I could do to get the modules moving properly again?

Is there a database table I could restore?

Thank you.
Ade

Something based around this perl script, which currently needs to be compiled onto the server hosting it.

It was difficult for me to get good results using the OSCommerce module within XOOPS so I just ran OScommerce separately to XOOPS .

other OS shops worth looking at are

http://www.zen-cart.com/ (fork of oscommerce)
http://www.cubecart.com (could also be a fork)

I'm also with with Surpass running XOOPS here, there were problems earlier this year with hackers deleting content from a server on two occassions and no recent backups being available. Thankfully Surpass' processes have been rectified as a result and it hasn't been a problem since. Hackers seem to go after up and coming ISPs in the hope that customers will abandon after an attack or two.

Occasionally, there is some downtime but again I think this has been improved in the last few months with the installation of a new router or something. I personally don't mind tiny bursts of web downtime occassionally (that could be because I'm in Australia and network caused), but I wouldn't suggest a high-traffic commercial site be installed on one of their shared hosting accounts.

They have an awesome CPANEL system that allows for simple MySQL backups and FTP transers to other FTP accounts with other ISPs. This means that you could try them out and easily shift if you didn't like it. And server software seems to be always the latest version. I scanned so many webhosts and previously signed up with another two, to eventually be satisfied with this firm.

G'day Xoopser,

I deleted a module who had assigned many blocks including the headlines block. the module has gone in admin, so how would I find and toggle the headlines block onto another module's page? I have already re-updated the Headline module to no avail. A blocks search engine for admin would be useful at this point.

thanks-in-advance.

'tis solved now sjoroos!

in the side-bar jump-to menus (custom blocks), their forms needed to be named, ie the following needed to be added (see between ** in first line below)

furthermore, the "</select></form>" did not exist in one of the jump-to menus and this too might've caused it.

<form method="get" *name='menuform'*><select name='sitetopic' onchange='location="{X_SITEURL}"+this.options[this.selectedIndex].value'>
<option>----</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=14'>film</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=15'>live music</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=16'>visual arts</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=17'>food / drink</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=18'>fashion / style</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=19'>clubs / parties</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=20'>galleries / museums</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=21'>community / city events</option>
<option value='modules/news/index.php?storytopic=22'>performing / literary arts</option>
<option value='modules/weblog/index.php?cat_id=2'>Blog</option>
<option value='modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=2'>Forum</option>
<!--<option value='modules/agendax/index.php?op=cat&id=4'>Events</option>-->
<option value='modules/xcgal/index.php?cat=2'>Photos</option>
<option value='modules/ms_weather/index.php?op=MSWeatherDecode&pcity=London'>Weather</option>
<option value='modules/xdirectory/viewcat.php?cid=1'>Directory</option>
<option value='modules/myAds/index.php?pa=view&cid=1'>Classifieds</option>
</select>
</form>

Clearing cookies and the cache in the browser gets things working with Mozilla but not IE. IE doesn't seem to be able to post anything to the site, even while logged in. Thanks for your tips, sjoroos.

For some reason no comments, forums or guestbook entries can be posted to my site groovetip.com. Also, previews or submissions are not working. This makes the site useless for community participation. Usually the submit or preview button is pressed and all that happens is the input screen just refreshes after clearing itself of data.

It happens with anonymous entries and logged in entries, in mainly IE but also in other browsers (firefox).

Using XOOPS 2.0.6 and the latest versions of PHP and MySQL

debug shows nothing unusual.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appeciated.

Eg try these previewing and posting on these pages:
http://www.groovetip.com/portal/modules/newbb/newtopic.php?forum=24
http://www.groovetip.com/portal/modules/myguestbook/sign.php
http://www.groovetip.com/portal/modules/myalbum/comment_new.php?com_itemid=319&com_order=0&com_mode=thread

Look forward to any replies.

In the admin there are three selectable notifications for 'column' events (eg new article). In the front end these do not appear.

using 2.0.6.

otherwise, seems like a good module :)
