Easiest solution is still to complete the install with the folders inside the root, check out the system if ti runs properly and when all works fine doing the move and adapt mainfile.php accordingly.

You should warn your hoster about this. Other occurrences of this iframe insertion to indexfiles have turned out to be a server security problem as other sites on the same server were also affected, if they were XOOPS based or not.

You have to move to a hoster, that supports running PHP outside the root or have to live with the permanent view of this warning.

Not all servers allow PHP files outside the webroot. If it wonr work without, you have to rename the two directories (in the file tree and in the mainfile.php) and also protect them by a .htaccess file (see security article about protector).

The more I look at the code snippet, the more i get puzzled.
The loadlanguage appears to be a function of the XOOPS 2.2.x series.
So, the quickest solution would be to add the required definitions
to /modules/newbb/language/english/main.php

For the module pack, use the suggested modules as a proposal and download the recent versions of these modules by using this list.
