My guess is that the default one is still cached, and that soon, very soon, you will come back to it and voila, it'll be just the way you want it . But, I could be wrong. One of the genuises around here may have a better answer. I'm not sure where/if the meta tags are cached or not. BUt it seems that most everything else is. And when I have a prob like this that is usually the answer. Just saw that you hadn't had an reply yet.

Or maybe even an FAQ or tutorial on how to make the changes, that way other folks would know what to do to adapt a module.

Go to the Administration page of your XOOPS installation, go to SYSTEM ADMIN | BLOCKS. Scroll down to the bottom of that page and you will see a section to add a new block. Just set the position of the block, the weight, give your block a title, create a menu using html (check off the box that says the type of content is html), set your cache time and save it, and you're good to go as far as the block goes. Make sure you fill in all the fields approp.

Remember, after you've made that new menu, you also need to go to the groups section of SYSTEM ADMIN and give permission group by group for the groups you want to see that hot new menu. I hope that I understood what you wanted correctly and that this helps.

I use Firefox (the browser) and Thunderbird (the mail client) from Mozilla. Apart from a few glitches, nothing substantial IMO, I'm not looking back. Both of them are awesome. There are so many plugins and utilities on them that I think they are well worth using. I would use them full time except that my PocketPC syncs via Outlook.

Certainly!

That's why I made them (well and to use them on my site). I'd be happy if they helped anybody around here!

Hervet and Ackbarr,

Thanks for the effort that you are making to update this mod.

I like how its working so far, though I still have some testing to do. I did notice that the spelling on the English subscribe and unsubscribe images are mispelled. So, I made a couple of new, but very similar ones. Here they are if you want them.

Again, thanks for your work.

There used to be a user around here named malbrecht. Due to some differences in philosophy, he moved on, but he had a module MAReviews, which I am using on my site for books. I had to hack it pretty heavily (well, pretty heavily as far as my experience allows). He did give me some pointers in the process and he's a pretty nice guy. Shame he's not still around IMHO. Anyway, here's a link to the forums on his site where he discusses this mod: MAReviews

You really need to read the forums here if you intend to use this mod. It's not without issues. You can find the module downloads in that forum thread. He will tell you that he does not support xoops2 but he is still quite helpful. MAReviews is primarily from XOOPS version 1

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much for your reply and for your help. This is the first time that I have really done anything with the templating system. I knew that I was not really understanding. Now, I get the idea. And, I walked away from it thinking to myself, once again, how powerful XOOPS is. This is really cool. Once again, thanks to the developers and thanks for the time you take to answer posts like mine Herko!

PS I just sent a donation to XOOPS to say thanks. First time I ever used Euros

I'm trying to change the Recent Topics Block so that it does not have the time of the last post in the block.

I'm still kinda' fuzzy on the use of the templating system. I have changed the template several times. When I go to the block admin area for that block then hit edit template, I make the changes, then hit View (why it doesn't say submit, I'm not sure - be glad for an explanation). It looks like it has changed when I hit view but the block still has the column with last post details. Why?

Here's the relevant part of the template after the change:
<table class="outer" cellspacing="1">

  <{if
$block.full_view == true}>
  <
tr>
    <
th><{$block.lang_forum}></th>
    <
th><{$block.lang_topic}></th>
    <
th align="center"><{$block.lang_replies}></th>
    <
th align="center"><{$block.lang_views}></th>
    <
th align="right"><{$block.lang_lastpost}></th>
  </
tr>

  <{foreach
item=topic from=$block.topics}>
  <
tr class="<{cycle values="even,odd"}>">
    <
td><a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=<{$topic.forum_id}>"><{$topic.forum_name}></a></td>
    <
td><a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=<{$topic.id}>&forum=<{$topic.forum_id}>&post_id=<{$topic.post_id}>#forumpost<{$topic.post_id}>"><{$topic.title}></a></td>
    <
td align="center"><{$topic.replies}></td>
    <
td align="center"><{$topic.views}></td>
    <
td align="right"><{$topic.time}></td>
  </
tr>
  <{/foreach}>

  <{else}>

  <
tr>
    <
td class="head"><{$block.lang_topic}></td>
    <
td class="head" align="center"><{$block.lang_replies}></td>
  </
tr>

  <{foreach
item=topic from=$block.topics}>
  <
tr class="<{cycle values="even,odd"}>">
    <
td><a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=<{$topic.id}>&forum=<{$topic.forum_id}>"><{$topic.title}></a></td>
    <
td align="center"><{$topic.replies}></td>
  </
tr>
  <{/foreach}>

  <{/if}>

</
table>

Obviously, I'm failing to grasp something. I have searched but am still clueless.

Oh, and I do not have it set to the full display in the blcok options.

Thanks for any help!
