@ChadK: There aren't extra services in the paid version except the support, spellchecker, and subscription manager.

However, there is no support for the hacked version of Koudanshi. You can however always ask questions on his site. May I remind you that the licence you are referring is an new one, and since koudanshi uses the older one your trail is unlimited without limitations.

And please try to remember this is an open-source community, this is for everybody a 'free-time' job.

carnuke: I looked at your site. What happens to the iframe when a post exceeds the length of the iframe?
I really don't like the "iframe" look though.
Not sure I like the other links it adds either:
· Forgotten Password Recovery
· Register a new account
· Our help documentation
· Contact the forums administrator

I'd rather have those link to the XOOPS version of the same.

Normally I'd say SPAM when this happens and the user hasn't shown earlier interest in XOOPS except to sell something to the users.

O.K., this is SPAM.

But I will ask, how can it be so cheap? I would like a cheap way to run several non profit sites but it would need to be reliable in uptime and performance. Right now I'm happy on my own boxes and full control but bandwidth on a DIY line is limited.

Need to display longer quote in Random Quote

Greetings,

I am trying to use the Random Quote module to display scriptures on my church's website. Some scriptures are too long and are truncated. In the mysql.sql file there were 2 fields defined. I attempted to increase the size of the 'texto' field. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and got this error:

Installing Random Quotes

Too big column length for column 'texto' (max = 255). Use BLOB instead

Unable to install randomquote. Error(s):
Back to Module Administration page

So, I'm guessing I can't do that. Is there another way to increase the quote length, or another module that would serve my purpose better?

pb is still there...

which version of XOOPS do you run ? 2.0.7 (it's mine) ?

seems that french é,à,è make newbb difficult to display icons... or perhaps a cookie mystake ?

Also note that you can control the look in CSS and sounds like yours is putting a less than obvious link there. The plain 'ole blue underlined links worked fine in the past. Or maybe your users never heard of such things....

BTW, mine is a basic Submit button and still says "Finish".

Chad: That part works fine. I'm using result there just to make sure the operation was successful. Your method uses $eh. Is that error handler? That sounds more convenient. Presumably 0013 returns the MySQL error?

I'll have to try it without the quotes tonight and see how that works out.

Just go to the page that lists all the modules, then click on the module's icon; you'll see options to play with there (notification is one of these under general config).
