I think maybe what amirsyarif is talking about is like a banner/link exchange. At least this what i've been wanting aswell.

Where every click thru your affiliate sends to you earns them something like extra banner impressions on their banner account.

I dont think amirsyarif actually means a piramid scheme (which is also ilegal in the UK/US aswell.

What i would be looking for is to give 1 banner impression for every 10 click thru's.

Or it could give them access to certain parts of the website once they reach a certain amount of click thru's.

And the piramid part would be that if they get people to join up with the scheme they could earn impressions thru them and the people they get to join up. This could go on up to 10 levels or so. You set the earnings for each level.

There are other online businesses that use this practice.

Piramid schemes are money making scams that use this method. Dont confuse Piramid Schemes with Piramid banner/link exchanges.

I DID IT, whoohoo!

in viewtopic.php fid the line:

$xoops_pagetitle = $xoopsModule->getVar('name'). ' - ' .$myts->htmlSpecialChars($forumdata['forum_name']). ' - ' .$topic_title;


And switch them around.

I've changed mines to this:

Quote:
$xoops_pagetitle = $topic_title. ' - ' .$xoopsModule->getVar('name');


To have the title line:

Quote:
site name - topic title - Forum


Excellent

All I did was went into viewtopic.php and searched for pagetitle and found that line and changed it.

You can do the same with the viewforum.php file.

it changed the description and keyword tags, but not the title tag. Is there no way to hack the newbb module somewhere to edit this?

ahhh, figured out what i was doing wrong (That'll teach me to read instructions) forgot to change "NewB" to "Foru".

The great thing about XOOPS 2 is that modules can set there own title tags. The down side however is how they are set up.

For instance in Newbb its set up to give you:

Site Name - Forum - Forum Name - Topic Title

This gives you a Title tag that is too big to be included in search engines such as Yahoo! So where should I be looking so that I can change it to:

Site Name - Topic Title - Forum Name - Forum

And where should I look for other modules?

One minute I had it working, then I went in and edited the css file and all the right block went to the center. I changed the CSS file back but still I've the problem.

confused.

Changed everything back. I will go back to it another time.

I'm new to editing themes in XOOPS 2 and want to know how I would be able to add the bottom column blocks to my theme. I tried doing it myself but my site ended up giving me an internal error.
