Yes, the files used are core files from the 2.0.4 version for WPMu, and 2.0.5 version of WP.

No, because XPress is using the same table structure as WP. Esentially, it's wrapped within XOOPS with as little cod change as possible.

Go here for an email to friend plug-in that might work.

Choose the 2.0.x version for oyour version of XPress.

Hmm, don't know what to say.

One thing to look out for when adding plug-ins, is make sure they are compatible with WP 2.04 and above. XPress comes bundled with an older release.

The current WP release (at the time of this posting) is 2.1

Other then that, in terms of your original post, I don't think there is much that can be done.

I can't see phppp writing a new feature for XPress that isn't native to Wordpress, with the odd exception to functionality within XOOPS itself, like the selectable Single user/multi user option, which is really a configuration automation from within Wordpress itself.

Ooooooh, I get it, sort like an email to friend thing.

Got ya. Go tohttp://codex.wordpress.org and grab a plug-in, I'm sure it will work.

Dump the plug=in in the wp-plugins folder, log in as admin, and activate the plug-in.

The email to blog feature should work fine OOTB with the addition of filling out the options on the modules/wordpress/wp-admin/options-writing.php page

All you have to make sure is that you have an email address set up for it. Any email that account recieves will be treated as a post by email.

You can not do this for all users, you can only do this for the main admin account with this version. AFIK.

I'm working on an XPress installation for a site I"m working on. If I run into troubles I'll let you know.

I've already found a couple bugs. I need a link to properly submit them to phppp.

Cheers

When ever I've moved a site, which has been quite a few times, I always wait a couple of days for things to settle down.

I don't announce the site move until well after it's happened. When I know for sure the the new DNS record has taken affect, I get rid of the old record. A couple days later, the old record is out of most DNS cache servers around the globe and then I announce the site move, if it's even all that neccessary. Most people don't care that you changed host providers. Some do, some don't.

My way is a little slower, but it seems to have the least amount of impact on end users.

Greetings all,

I just found this news snippit that I think all RegistryFly customers should take heed of, if they haven't already.

Considering the hassle they have given to almost all of their customers, I can't imagine anyone not being aware of the situation.

I'm only raising this point to make sure anyone here in the community isn't adversely affected from a sudden closure of the registrar and loosing access to their site because of DNS servers shutting down at RegisterFly.

Not to be alarmest or anything, I don't know how a situation like this would be handled if such an occurance happened.

Anyway, here's a link to the news article I found at ArsTechnica

dev.xoops.org repository is getting some work one to it, so I can't really say one way or another which way you should.

The xoopsforge has been down for a while, so all I can say is wait and see what happens next and then grab what you need when either of these two resources are up to speed again.

Another suggestion is to head over to sourceforge and do a search for project management scripts, or even hotscripts.com might have something.

There has to be something out there you can use if you prefer to host your own project management script. I'm just not sure what else to suggest at the moment.

and looking at the way things are going, frameworks will more then likely be a part of the core so that of the confusion will be lost.

Frameworks and xoopseditor both have me confused. I don't know if I have broken files, incomplete uploads or have something misconfigured. php_version is correct, but when I enable a different editor in what ever module offers the option, everything works fine except the form field itself, like "the scoop" in news for instance.

The dhtml option works, and thats it. I really haven't seen any benefit to having these "system" files added, but they're required by the module in order for them to work. So, I just have them there, and just let the modules that use them do their magic.

I'm so confused!
