I'm a fan of the IPB Message Board Module provided by bbpixel. With it, you solve several long term XOOPS problems and gain some nice features as well - all in one fair swoop!

The autologin (peeps being logged out while posting) is solved with it.

The View and Edit account side of it provides the peeps more features. (member photo posting, dump avatars in a folder and that's it, etc)

The inbox quota is spot on. No more worries about HUGE pm tables

You don't have to sort though emails about peeps having Zone Alarm or Norton.

And it's a type of Message Board that peeps are familiar with. It cuts down on the questions on how to and so on and get's them posting!

You might want to set your site to Restircted or at least 14 Years to keep the children out. you can do this by login as admin, go to administration menu, Prefs, System, Meta tags and footer

Hmmm nothing absolutely nothing offensive on the front page, he even states on the front of the site:

You have to be 18 or older to enter the site !

Of course you dont want kids on the site. You might add a paragraph saying something like "parents be responsible for your kids. " - "cuz I'm not being paid to babysit them"

Looks Great! Pat yourself on the back!

Couple of things I noticed:

Title Text for "home" "help" and "contact" (when you put your mouse over them)

Help is 404 - points to xoopsfaq module

Both can be corrected in the theme.html

Again, good job!

Agree.

However aren't we officially in the broadband age now? If I remember correctly, wasn't 2005 the year that the majority of the surfers were on broadband? Just curious but I wonder how many sites are still catering to the dialups?

I look at it as any type of technology, keep up or be left behind. I think the same thinking can be applied here. It's like the old saying, "You can make the greatest buggy whips.....".

Don't get me wrong m0nty, I think you know I hold you in high regard. I'm just trying to toss another view point out there.

This has been a big complaint for some time with Xoops.

Do a search for the autologin hack.

The IPB forum module will also alleviate it!

If you are using SMF, have you looked into Joomla? They have a bridge and Joomla is looking slick.

Looks good, different, but works!

Image gallery. I like Xcgal.

Forum - The IPB module. The IPB module will keep you from having to deal with some of the well known XOOPS problems. (I can't log in because of firewall, etc. )It's users profile area is also feature rich.

The other thing I like is it puts a smack down on the private msgs. It provides a size quota for the users.

Might try 707 for the cache. 644 on the adminmenu.php in the cache folder.

Anyone have a better setup?
