I guess I am confused about what I read about which module.

Thanks.

Apart from xpress, are there any other modules that you can post articles/news to by email?

I saw someone claiming to have managed in 2.3 on this forum. Unfortunately the link he gave with the explanation was in Vietnamese.

I have attempted to install lifetype. All I get is a blank page, and the error message is as follows:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'SMARTY_DIR/Smarty.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/abarrelf/public_html/main/modules/lifetype/class/template/template.class.php on line 20
All errors (2) queries (5) blocks (0) extra (0) timers (3)

Where do I find the smarty directory?

I have tried to install xigg, as per the instructions on the xigg website.

Now in my module administration page, the non installed modules are no longer visible.

I don't know the answer but I second the question. Links should be visible to all as default. If anyone knows how to do it?

I am sure that I read somewhere that the news module can be posted to by mail.

I cannot find any reference to that in the module, how is it done?

Whilst there may be many other things that WP does and news doesn't for me, there are two essential functions that a blog must have that News doesn't. Auto Pinging and trackbacks. If they were added, then News would be a blogging module.
Additionally a blogroll block would also be helpful.

No thoughts? The main page issue is the big problem.

I have added xpress 2-11 to my site, and I want to change the format, but I don't have a clue how.

The older version of xpress, puts the default wordpress sidebar in a XOOPS block. This one puts it in the blog page itself. A block is better, because you can position it where you like. How can I delete the side bar from the main page?

Also the blog lists contributors as the default main page. In a multiperson blog, this makes sense, but as mine has one contributor, it looks a bit silly. How can I choose one contributor as the default page?

If that is not clear, the page is here:
