Thank you for your help once again Mowaffak. I turned debug mode on and came up with this:

I have not updated my forums however, but in the past this issue has persisted with updating. It only occurs to one forum, the one labeled "Patient Resources" I have several other forums that post.php works fine and redirects as it should.

To remove the page counter in front of articles, I need more explanation. is it the one from 1 to 38 when I click News in the usermenu?

Yes, thats what I'm talking about. The numbers that allow you to browse the news. I'd like it so they only appear at the bottom of the page, after the news, not at the top.

Quote:
Your code looks like "F j, Y g:i a" You could edit that to "m/d/y" But wait - that is not a nice way, because it's the template. What is the value of You 3 lines?

My code looks like
define("_DATESTRING","F j, Y g:i a"); define("_MEDIUMDATESTRING","Y/n/j G:i"); define("_SHORTDATESTRING","Y/n/j");

as you said, but what are you talking about the template? I edited it as per your suggestion and it works just fine, but if there is a better way to do it let me know.

And my theme is called "MM" without quotes.

Thank you for your response. We did fix the problem with your help. Do you have any suggestions as how to fix the rest of the issues? I see you know your stuff. Are you for hire?

Hello, I'm running a website using XOOPS right now, but I have several issues with it that I can't quite figure out myself.

www.medicalmarijuanareferrals.com is the site in question.

One issue is with the default XOOPS forum module not giving a redirect. More information can be found here:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=67044&forum=20

Another issue with the XOOPS forum is the way it displays the time stamp on posts. It should be in mm/dd/yyyy format

The forum module shouldn't hide posts after a certain amount of time. It's currently only displays posts made in the last 100 days.

I also have an issue with the way the news module puts a page counter in front of the new articles. That should be removed.

I'd also like the behavior of the Recent News block to be changed. Instead of simply displaying the tiles of the most recent news, it should display the titles of news not on the first page without a datestamp. This may require a new module to be made

Any help would be appreciated and I am willing to pay anyone who can fix these issues via PayPal. Please respond on the forums or at my email caek89[at]gmail.com

Hi, I'm currently running a site with XOOPS 2.0.13. You can find it here www.medicalmarijuanareferrals.com.

My issue is with the default forum module. I have two forums under it. In one forum after a topic or reply is made post.php is a blank page, with no redirect back to the topic list. The other forum works fine. What could be causing this issue, and how can I fix it?

Sorry bout that, but my questions were starting to get buried in the topic. Anyway, does anyone have any answers? Please respond in this topic, and let the other one die.

Hi my site is www.medicalmarijuanareferrals.com

I have a couple of issues with the site that I'm not sure how to fix.

First, an issue with the "recent news block" on the side. I'd like to remove the dates from being shown. I know it has something to do with editing it out of the template file, I just can't figure out where.

Second, my default module is "news". While I would like my users to see the news as soon as they visit my site I don't want the URL to change to /modules/news. Someone in another topic recommended using frames, but I would like the link to change as they navigate away from the index. I was thinking there might be a way to code a custom block that functions exactly the way news module does and stick it in the "top page" sections under blocks.

Lastly, I would like to get rid of the page selection((1) 2 3 4 ... 32 » ) that currently appears above the news. I'd like to keep the navigator on the bottom however. I can't find that option anywhere.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your help again. Heres another set set of questions as your reward. :)

The site in question ishttp://medicalmarijuanareferrals.com

On my recent news block ( on the right) it shows the date and a list of recent articles. How do I remove the date? I tried looking in the templates for news_block_new.html but I can't figure out what exactly to edit. I'm using the classic view, and I thought I changed the relevant code, but I must be mistaken.

Second Question is how get users to see my news module in the index [b]without</b> the address changing to /modules/news. I just want it show the domain. It's a minor issue but it's a gripe of the owner of the site.

Thanks again to the XOOPS Developers who designed this. It's a great system.

Big thanks to ghia_ and Bandit-X

I'm not quite familiar how XOOPS works and only a basic grasp on php and mySQL so far and your posts were very helpful

I'm still having problems making XOOPS display a word count.. I did have a problem finding _NW_BYTESMORE in news\class\class.newsstory.php. What function should it be under? Can I just add it in or is it defined somewhere else?

Also heres another question since I don't want to spam the topic list. When my visitors visit my site they see /modules/news/ after my url. Is there anyway to clean that up so they just see my domain? I think it has something to do with the way I initially tried setting XOOPS up. Thanks a lot.

I took a look at the templates and couldn't find anything that might have controlled the formatting of titles, is there another place this might be?
